Panopto is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead and provide overall direction and guidance to the Employee Experience/HR department. We are looking for a trusted advisor and business partner to collaborate with the company’s senior leaders, functioning as the expert on people and organizational issues, and providing guidance on managing complex employee relations matters.

About the Role

As the Director of Human Resources, you will foster and maintain a world-class hybrid work environment and lead all of the HR talent management and development functions including HR strategies, policies, DEI&B, employee engagement, compensation, benefits, recruiting and employment, employee relations, HR systems, training, and planning. In conjunction with general counsel, you will keep current on international, national, and local HR laws and policies that may affect the workforce. You will review and implement legal and policy changes that are mandatory to the jurisdictions in which Panopto operates. You will also:

  • Scale the HR team to match the growth and needs of Panopto globally
  • Lead competitive market research to maintain and improve where possible Panopto’s pay practices and pay bands that help recruit and retain superior staff. Assist executive management in the semi-annual review, preparation and administration of the organization’s wage and salary program
  • Manager departmental staffing budgets, departmental HR budget allocations, expenditures, and related financial activities for the purpose of ensuring that allocations are accurate, expenses are within budget limits and/or fiscal practices are followed
  • Lead global staff development activities for all employees with a focus on strengthening employee engagement
  • Manage the effectiveness and continuous improvement of human capital operations and re-engineer processes and systems to achieve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Partner with benefit providers and advisors to manage ongoing benefits administration (health, workers comp, 401k, disability)
  • Manage legal and compliance requirements related to the day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risk and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, resolve employee relations issues and effectively liaise with legal counsel as needed
  • Oversee vendor management for employee services, office administration, human capital services and software
  • Prepare and leverage analytics to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead employer brand efforts including being the employer of choice, Glassdoor and LinkedIn pages

About you

You are a change agent with the ability to move key strategic initiatives forward, influence stakeholders, and use data to inform your decisions. You are a leader of yourself, your team, and the company. You don’t have to check all the boxes, but these are some of the skills and experiences we think are important for this role:

  • Experience leading HRl teams and broader leadership teams through M&A transactions
  • Demonstrated ability in leveraging KPIs to drive organizational success and proven strategic planning acumen
  • History of successfully scaling and managing human resource teams across geographies
  • Knowledgeable about US and international labor law or a demonstrated ability to leverage subject matter experts, common sense, and risk management to enable decision-making for US and international labor considerations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects/initiatives at once and identify opportunities for process improvement
  • Exceptional verbal written and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated presentation skills and ability to inform and influence stakeholders
  • Demonstrated capability in analyzing and designing requirements for automation and tools for HR applications, evaluation and proposal of tools, and managing the change globally
  • Undergraduate degree and 7+ years of experience in human resources at a management level; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years leading a human resources team for a company with more than 150 employees spanning multiple geographies
  • Previous experience at a fast-growing tech organization strongly preferred

Remote, US: Candidates looking for flexible or remote-friendly positions are encouraged to apply. Employees in this position are eligible to work remotely on a permanent basis, but have the option to work out of our Seattle or Pittsburgh office. Panopto’s Seattle office is located in Smith Tower in the heart of the Pioneer Square neighborhood or at our Pittsburgh office which is on the north side of Pittsburgh along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail with quick access to downtown.
