We are searching for aGeospatial Tester/Developer with special qualifications to support theNavigation, Seamanship, and Ship-handling Trainers VirtualShipprogram. Our Program Office is located in Orlando, FL, but this position may be supported virtually. VirtualShip isa computerized bridge simulator that allows Sailors to practice ship handling, navigation, and visual information skills in a controlled environment. As a Tester and Developer, you will test and edit content for real time maritimesimulation. Duties include: Creating and executing Visual Database Unit level reviews. Working through test plans, finding errors, and correcting those errors. Using GIS, OSM, geospatial concepts, elevation data and aerial/satellite imagery for validations of visual databases. Use digital cartography and geospatial production techniques and NGA digital data formats. Attention to detail when it relates to understanding vector attribution and validating the 3D output. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree: additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree 2+ years of relevant experience in testing and or developing 3D geospatial content: Global Mapper ArcGIS or other GIS programs Modern GIS techniques and application into 3d visual databases Navy bridge watch, ship handling and other simulation experience highly desired US citizenship; must be able to obtain a secret clearance as required Preferred Software Qualifications: Extracting features from a variety of sources including but not necessarily limited to: Rasterized charts, digital hydrographic survey data and ortho-rectified imagery Knowledge of digital vector data and their attribution 3D Visual Database software - TerraVista, or Esri's ArcGIS Desktop software suite Open Scene Graph Python or other scripting languages Real time simulation Unity / Unreal Other Adobe Creative Suite application (After Effects, Premiere, etc.) Familiarity with Global Mapper or similar GIS software Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Travel Required: Less than 10% Telecommuting Options: Remote Work Location: USA FL Orlando Additional Work Locations: COVID-19 Vaccination: GDIT does not have a vaccination mandate applicable to all employees.
