  • Plan, help write, and review documentation for new product features and functionality in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Review and shepherd documentation pull requests from engineers, customer success, solutions engineers, and the general public.
  • Empower others to write good documentation via templates, style guides, and clear information architecture.
  • Identify cross-linking opportunities between documentation and product user interfaces, tutorials, and marketing materials.
  • Collaborate with Education Engineers to align terminology and knowledge, and to identify the accurate formatting and placement for different kinds of content.
  • Architect processes for cross-department collaboration that scale as HashiCorp grows.
  • Plan and coordinate documentation improvement projects across multiple stakeholders.
  • Identify documentation gaps and problems, prioritize them, and implement solutions.
  • Organize new and existing documentation into a logical flow.
  • Partner with Engineering on intuitive naming and labeling conventions.
  • Mentor more junior team members.
  • Become an authoritative user of HashiCorp products (open source, cloud, enterprise).

You may be a good fit for our team if you have:

  • 3+ years of demonstrated ability in technical writing and editing on DevOps tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – this will be tested during the interview process and is required to be successful.
  • Experience driving ongoing, multi-stakeholder projects from start to finish.
  • Experience structuring information to be easy to discover, navigate, and browse.
  • Experience editing the work of other writers.
  • Experience with Git and GitHub or another version control system.
  • Experience establishing and refining processes within a team or organization.
  • Humility and curiosity, especially curiosity.
  • Preferred: Hands-on experience in a technical field.
  • Optional: Passed any HashiCorp certification exam.
  • Optional: Experience with Swagger, OpenAPI, or similar automated documentation systems.
  • Optional: Experience in instructing or education. This could be as a technical evangelist, tutor, or mentor.
