Technical Writer
About This Role
As Zoom’s Global Architect team grows, we are looking for a Content & Creative Technical Writer who is responsible for creative problem solving for all of Zoom’s technical sellers. In Zoom’s competitive market, agile content creation is crucial to sellers abilities’ to win deals and quickly fill any gaps.
We value a background in content and design to be successful in Zoom’s rapid, results-focused work environment. The right candidate will apply creative skills to solve sales problems alongside a team of technical sales architects.
Responsibilities
- Technical Content Creation: Manage the scope and creation for internal and external-facing technical sales assets. Work with solutions engineering, leadership, product, and marketing teams to identify content gaps. Create polished, professional content and templates to fill these gaps.
- Research and Discovery: Work with Product Management and Engineering resources to gain a hands-on understanding of product capabilities, limitations, best practices, and considerations that should be articulated to Zoom customers.
- Project Management: Assess and prioritize incoming requests, coordinate efforts between Sales, Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing functions to maximize impact and reduce duplication of work.
- Sales Communications: Identify what information that is valuable to the solution engineering team, and determine the best format, channel, and strategy to convey that information for maximum visibility and retention.
- Technical Design: Create and manage aesthetically-pleasing visuals and standards for technical sales teams to use in documents, architectural and protocol flow diagrams, and presentations. Break down highly technical concepts into explainable combinations of written text and supporting visuals.
- Prepare communications for distribution so technical sellers can accurately and efficiently convey content and appropriate messaging to their customers and prospects.
- Works both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams while communicating project timelines to team members
- Helps scale the team through new ideas for content, processes, etc.
- Create documentation, organization, and clarity around what content is available to the Sales organization, to help Solution Engineers find the right content and use it to engage prospects at the right time
Required Skills
- 5+ years in a Technical Sales Enablement, Technical writing, Marketing, or a Creative field
- Has strong analytical and problem-solving skills, self-motivated, personable, with strong attention to detail
- Loves to learn and deeply understand new or emerging technologies
- Ability to distill complex asks into clear, elegant, and focused messaging
- Experience developing and applying visual branding to content
- Experience copywriting to create compelling narratives
- A track record of problem-solving without having all the answers
Preferred Skills
- BS/BA degree preferred, but not required
- Experience with Coda and Confluence
- Instructional design/training experience a
- Experience with Marketing or Sales Enablement
- SaaS Collaboration experience preferred

Salary Range or On Target Earnings:
Minimum:
$89,800.00
Maximum:
$209,600.00
In addition to the base salary and/or OTE listed Zoom has a Total Direct Compensation philosophy that takes into consideration; base salary, bonus and equity value.
