System Administrator/DevOps Engineer IV (Remote)

The Systems Administrator/DevOps Engineer will automate, administer, integrate, and configure and update shared technology services, acting as an interface between development teams and infrastructure. In addition, the engineer will engineer, configure, and administer infrastructure-owned applications and services. The engineer will implement and maintain platforms via automation, configuration management, and infrastructure-as-code and will migrate manually deployed services to automated deployment platforms. Role qualifications: 7-10 years of experience working with OS and middleware application technologies in a 24 X 7 product environment Experience with DevOps, Scrum, and SRE methodologies, and CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or equivalent Strong hands-on experience managing and certification in Linux-based (Red Hat/CentOS/Amazon) and Microsoft Windows Server operating systems Strong knowledge of automation technologies like Ansible and TerraForm Hands-on experience and certification on AWS cloud infrastructure resources, including Amazon S3, AMI, EC2, Snowball, OpenSearch Understanding of networking concepts (CIDR and subnetting, ports and protocols, VPN, routing) Understanding of operational best practices, configuration management, and security controls A working understanding of container orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes, Fargate, and ECS Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket or equivalent Experience with scripting languages like Python, Bash, and Perl Server Software/OS build and patch maintenance Experience with monitoring and alerting products like Solarwinds, Big Brother, NewRelic, Pingdom Experience with Java application servers such as Jetty and Apache Tomcat Training and/or experience in a wide variety of technical platforms Preferred experience with managing and upgrading Splunk, Atlassian, Elasticsearch, and Tidal Job Scheduler. Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in work experience What you will be doing: Takes ownership of assigned tasks and projects to deliver to internal Availity customers Understand the architecture of the various platforms and implement integrations between systems, both on-premise and in the cloud. Server system architecture, design, implementation, administration, automation and documentation Standardizes service deployment using central automated deployment technologies Assists peers in troubleshooting and repairing of software technologies Drive automation of system configuration and deployment of 3rd party services Maintain patch repositories, apply patches, and ensure that they are applied correctly Schedule, communicate, manage and automate change control in an enterprise-wide environment Provide proactive support in an environment requiring availability of 99.9 %, along with participating in 24/7 on-call rotation Responsible for trouble-shooting different software issues and documenting the results. Installs, configures, and tests different product sets on Linux and Windows operating systems Maintain production-grade applications in virtualized environments Creates automated processes and procedures for OS and related hardware/software systems, related troubleshooting, security, and performance testing Works directly with customer representative to create well architected solutions.
