Role Overview:

We are seeking innovative Staff Full Stack Engineers to build reliable, performant, and robust back-end systems along with delightful front-end experiences to manage the entire spectrum of the home building process.

About You:

You are proficient with the latest Javascript tech stack (we use TypeScript, React, GraphQL, and Node) and are comfortable working with RDBMS (we use PostgreSQL) in the AWS cloud environment. You’re equally comfortable writing detailed design documents, writing and deploying high-quality code and systems, and building reusable frameworks.

You embrace cross-functional projects and teams and enthusiastically participate in identifying, hiring, and partnering to build world-class tech teams and companies.

What You’ll Do:

  • Partner with all Homebound teams, from engineering to customer experience
  • Understand key needs and opportunities and then propose and implement solutions and systems to effect change
  • Write detailed design documents and integrate feedback into said documents
  • Write high-quality code and integrate code-review feedback into said code
  • Ensure standards adherence across the various cross-functional teams
  • Deploy systems that are resilient, robust, and monitored

What You’ll Bring:

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience
  • To build our backend: TypeScript, Node.js, GraphQL, PostgreSQL, AWS
  • To build our frontend: JavaScript, TypeScript, React
    • Note: You do not need to know all of these right now, but you are driven to learn them. Familiar technologies are also applicable.
  • Strong understanding of design patterns
  • A drive to understand how things work and a love of sharing that knowledge with others
  • Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical requirements
  • Ability to incorporate cross-functional team inputs while designing technical specifications
  • Experience leading projects and mentoring others to solve problems
  • Demonstrated history and passion for the quality of our code base and customer experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
