SUMMARY:

Manages external facing client projects for Advanced Recognition Systems division which develops biometrics software that provides biometrics-based matching and identity management services to facilitate secured access, public safety, and streamlined service and retail experiences. Clients are law enforcement, airlines, retail, etc.

To be successful, you need to be ready to learn and handle large complex projects with the biggest law enforcement agencies in the world. There is a lot to learn about biometrics and to understand what it takes to get the solution implemented. They provide extensive product training. PM must have good communication skills and know when to push back gracefully with clients. PM needs to take initiative and be assertive with professional demeanor, and have solid PM skills including communication skills, client facing experience, technology understanding, good foundational PM skills, finance/budgeting/resource planning experience.

MANDATE: ALL Advanced Recognition Systems (ARS) workers are required to be fully vaccinated - whether working remote or onsite; no option for frequent/weekly testing.

This is a remote position - Preference location is Rancho Cordova, CA. Worker will be required to travel or report onsite at the Rancho Cordova facility as needed (frequency to be discussed during interview.

DESCRIPTION: The project manager oversees only one (or sometimes a few) of these efforts. They ensure the timely delivery of a specific project.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Exceptional project management skills and a track record for setting and meeting customer expectations. As a Project Manager you will be the primary point-of-contact for our customers in planning and delivering solutions ensuring a timely and quality implementation. You will work closely with a variety of internal and external teams to execute on project deliverables to customer sites throughout the North America. In this role you will track, manage, and communicate progress on all projects including appropriate risk escalation. The project manager role is closely tied to company success as successfully completed projects have direct impact on both company revenue and customer satisfaction. Maintaining customer satisfaction levels during the lifetime of the customer relationship relies heavily on the Project Manager's ability to communicate, set, and maintain clear expectations with all stakeholders involved.

Manages projects within Advanced Recognition Systems:

  • Manages the day-to-day operational and tactical aspects of multiple medium or large-scale technical/software projects.
  • Implements project reviews and procedures in accordance with our project management lifecycle methodology.
  • Ensures profitable and successful execution of customer projects.
  • Manages complex risks and mitigation planning.
  • Manages project scope, looks for ways to increase project profitability through scope expansion.
  • Prepare and present written change orders for customer signature and process as required.
  • Analyzes profitability, revenue, margins, bill rates, and utilization for assigned projects.
  • Accurately forecasts revenue, profitability, margins, bill rates and utilization across projects.
  • Evokes creative and innovative thinking from team members, while helping them to bring their ideas and career plans to fruition.
  • Works across practice to share lessons learned and best practices.
  • Continually seeks and capitalizes upon opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships.
  • Note: this role does not have direct reports.

Mandatory Education/Experience:

  • Must have a valid PMP through PMI.
  • Minimum of a BE, BS, or BA (or equivalent) within a technical or business field or equivalent work experience.
  • Advanced Project Management skills.
  • Four years project management experience.
  • Experience managing external client-facing projects.
