Title: Software Engineer – Frontend, Platform Workflow
Location: Remote
Airbyte is the open-source standard for EL(T). We enable data teams to replicate data from applications, APIs, and databases to data warehouses, lakes, and other destinations. We believe only an open-source approach can solve the problem of data integration, as it enables us to cover the long tail of integrations while enabling teams to adapt pre-built connectors to their needs.
Within the past 24 months, we’ve built over 300+ connectors and we’ve had 35,000+ companies replicating data with us. We’ve raised $181M from some of the world’s top investors (Benchmark, Accel, Altimeter, Coatue, Y Combinator, etc.) and believe in product-led growth, where we build something awesome and let our product bring the users, rather than an outbound sales engine with cold calls.
Airbyte is remote friendly, with most of the team still based in Silicon Valley. We’re fully transparent as a company. Our company handbook, core values, methodology, strategy and roadmap are open to all.
If you find this role exciting, we encourage you to apply even if you think you don’t meet all requirements.
Opportunity:
The Platform Workflow team manages the Airbyte Protocol via our core applications for running EL(T) syncs. We are focused on unlocking more reliable, faster, and easier-to-use data movement regardless of where Airbyte is hosted or what kind of data is being moved. This includes maintaining the platform used by our open-source community of over 5K members. We build foundational features like schema evolution, sync parallelization, and a robust and sensible API layer. We also work closely with the Airbyte Cloud team to help build the features our hosted customers need to effortlessly sync their data.
The Airbyte UI team owns Airbyte’s web frontend, which is the main interface used to configure and inspect your ETL pipelines and data integration happening via Airbyte. The UI plays a crucial role in onboarding and enabling new users, as well as giving all users the ability to gain insights and supporting them to keep their data integrations running day by day.
As an engineer on the team, you will define the future of the UI, contribute to Airbyte’s growth by improving the user experience and usability, and extend and improve the product to become the leading data integration platform.
