Job Description: Senior SOC Security Analyst - Vulnerability Management (Remote) Job Summary: The Senior PROTECT Analyst takes proactive measures to defend the network prior to an attack. This position requires knowledge and experience in areas including vulnerability management, system hardening, endpoint security, attack methodologies, security threats and tools, operating systems and networking. Determines and pursues course of action necessary to obtain desired results and makes recommendations and changes to departmental policies and procedures. While the focus of this position is the corporate network, PROTECT team members may occasionally contribute to the security of classified environments. The Analyst should have the experience and ability to write reports, policies, standards, and procedural documentation. What you will do: + Knowledge and experience in vulnerability management + Safeguarding enterprise information, intellectual assets and business operations from accidental or intentional disruption, disclosure or destruction + Collection and analysis of information from various application, endpoint and network sources to identify vulnerabilities and potential for exploitations + Conduct threat assessments and evaluation of vulnerabilities, risk, and potential impact + Determine deviations from acceptable configurations + Develops and/or recommends appropriate mitigation countermeasures in operational and nonoperational situations. + Develop, modify and execute policies that affect cybersecurity operations + Understand network security tools, attack methodologies, operating systems, general networking concepts, and enterprise environments + Teach and mentor security apprentices in PROTECT skills What we need from you: + A Bachelor's Degree in computer security, computer science, or another closely related IT discipline + At least 8 years' experience in vulnerability management or cybersecurity analysis in a Security Operations Center (SOC) or Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) environment + Familiarity with CJCSM 6510.01B desired + US Person CERTIFICATIONS: + One of the following certifications are desired: + CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) + GIAC Information Security Professional (GISP) + GIAC Enterprise Vulnerability Assessor (GEVA) + Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) + (ISC)2 Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP) + AWS Solution Specialty - Security + SKILLS/COMPETENCIES: + Advanced knowledge of operating in a SOC/CERT environment + Advanced knowledge of implementing a vulnerability management programs + Advanced knowledge of attack methodologiesAdvanced knowledge of operating systems and enterprise environments + Advanced knowledge of networking, system administration, and network security + Advanced knowledge of scripting languages and syntax + Skilled in the vulnerability management process, with a focus on scanning every device attached to a network + Skilled in the configuration and usage of various Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solutions + Skilled in analyzing configurations and hardening systems including Windows, Linux, and Mac + Skilled in providing direction and guidance for the mitigation of risk + Skilled in differentiating false positives vs actual threats + Skilled in creating consumable and relevant security reports from large amounts of data + Ability to writing work instructions and procedures + Ability to create briefs and deliver them to a large audience + Ability to be analytical and apply problem-solving skills + Ability to plan, configure, and maintain security tools across an enterprise network + Ability to learn a global enterprise network and effectively document it + Ability to interface with and describe security concerns to users, customers and leadership + Ability to coordinate and collaborate with external organizations specifically partner security teams and vendors + Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team Expect a helping hand when you need it Some jobs call for a helping hand.
