The Role:

This is your chance to apply your design skills to the biggest threat to our planet and our species. Pachama is looking for a Senior Product Designer to build streamlined experiences that empower our supply partners to restore land and grow forests. As a member of the supply-focused Product team, you will work on optimizing the number of high-quality forest carbon projects brought online and the supply of credits made available for sale. Your efforts will directly impact our mission of restoring nature to solve climate change. More specifically, you will help simplify the complexities of forest project management, carbon credit issuance, remote-sensing science, and making offset purchase decisions. In addition, you will be critical in performing user research studies, aggregating customer feedback, sharing hypotheses with the broader team, proposing designs and workflows, and building beautiful products.

This role is remote and must be within the Americas timezones.

Who We Are:

Climate change is the most pressing threat to our planet and our species. This is your chance to use your product management stills to make a massive direct impact.

Carbon credits, particularly from forest preservation and regrowth projects, have taken a some criticism lately. Many projects are not as beneficial as they once seemed. Some offer no climate benefits at all. But there is no path to our global climate goals without forest restoration, and carbon credits are the best way to channel corporate funding toward those goals. So the world needs reliable tools to measure the true value of forest restoration projects and communicate that value to carbon credit buyers. Pachama is building those tools. Our core technology combines satellite imaging, drone scans, and AI analysis to measure carbon stored in forests.

What You Will Help Us With:

  • Lead the design vision of Pachama’s most essential product
  • Become an authority on the needs of our supply partners
  • Conduct user research to identify problems and formulate hypotheses
  • Partner closely with engineering, product management, and product marketing teams to define the product strategy, roadmap, process, and culture

  • Work closely with design team members across the entire company to build and maintain cohesive, scalable design systems
  • Support the company by providing all necessary visual assets and implementation guidance
  • Embrace candid feedback and rapid iterations
  • Build awesome products!

Experience & Skills We’re Looking For:

  • Strong alignment to Pachama’s values: Purpose, Integrity, Excellence, Tenacity
  • 4+ years of product design experience
  • Exceptional systems thinking, product and UX design skills
  • An entrepreneurial spirit, which translates into being a self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and ambiguous environment
  • A proven track record of shipping complex consumer-focused products
  • Near-mastery in designing high-fidelity mockups using Figma
  • A strong ability to prioritize your work independently, taking into consideration a range of stakeholder interests
  • Crisp communication skills, Portuguese + Spanish fluency a big plus

  • Fluent in Spanish or Portuguese a plus!

Even if you don’t meet all these requirements, we encourage you to apply if this job description excites you. We are looking for ambitious people to help make an impact on climate change.
