Job Summary
WEX is seeking a self-driven and motivated individual to join our Commercial Legal team as a Senior Paralegal. This role will be primarily responsible for supporting the commercial and transactional work of WEX’s Health Benefits line of business in the Americas. As a new member of the team, the Commercial Paralegal will have the opportunity to utilize and enhance their subject matter experience in commercial contracts and transactional matters, particularly customer and revenue-generating agreements. *This role is remote within the United States.
Performance Objectives
- Act as liaison between company attorneys, outside counsel, organizations and in-house employees.
- Compile data from legal digests, encyclopedias and practice manuals.
- Assemble, proof and edit drafts of contracts, leases, licenses and insurance policies.
- Prepare and file legal documents with appropriate entities, as required.
- Conduct research on projects as directed by corporate attorneys.
- Review and ensure the company’s compliance with regulations.
- Assist with the review and preparation of patent material and applications.
- Utilize excellent written and verbal communication skills and exercise sound judgment and independent decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal Studies, Finance, Business or related field.
- Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited paralegal program.
- 5+ years of paralegal or equivalent experience with commercial contracts and transactional matters, including drafting and generating agreements, redlining, and reviewing contract revisions and comments.
- Experience with all aspects of a contract lifecycle management is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working in healthcare, benefits or insurance is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working supporting a line of business on the customer side is preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to learn IT applications and systems.
- Hard working, dependable, curious, proactive, resourceful, and consistently follow through.
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills to effectively and independently prioritize and manage a heavy workload while accountable for work product.
- Ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Collaborative, flexible, adaptable and able to work across functions in a team oriented environment.
- Proficiency in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, and DocuSign.

The base pay range represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position. Actual pay rates will vary and will be based on various factors, such as your qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. Base pay is one component of WEX’s total compensation package. Most sales positions are eligible for commission under the terms of an applicable plan. Non-sales roles are typically eligible for a quarterly or annual bonus based on their role and applicable plan. Salary Pay Range: $35.50 – $47.00
