Role Summary
The Senior Manager, Customer Marketing and Communications, is responsible for managing the development and execution of communication strategies, programs and content to maximize revenue, maintain reputation and drive product initiatives for the US Hospital team.

Specifically, this position partners with the Customer Marketing and Communications Lead, Marketing and Communications team members, Portfolio and customer facing colleagues to recommend and execute communications programs and projects. The Senior Manager helps set the strategy for colleague and internal communications activities, vehicles and platforms to support broader business objectives.

An important part of this role is also to support and execute the US Hospital conventions strategy for the Sterile Injectables Portfolio. This includes project managing and planning 4-5 large conventions per year, in partnership with our convention’s agency. The Senior Manager also works cross-functionally with Corporate Affairs, PGS Communication Leads and other Pfizer teams to manage messaging, tools and processes to help advance product opportunities and support supply availability communications needs. This colleague collaborates with other critical partners, including Supply Chain, Quality, Regulatory, Legal and Medical as appropriate. He/she provides strategic counsel to Pfizer Injectables leaders as needed and works as a day-to-day communications partner for Sales leadership.

The Senior Manager supports Marketing initiatives as needed, including event planning, project management and development of customer marketing materials.

The Senior Manager, Customer and Marketing Communications, reports to the US Hospital Customer Marketing and Communications Lead.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develops and implements effective sales, customer and internal communication programs in support of US Hospital business initiatives. Leads communication program execution and provides strategies and materials for local implementation and execution.
  • Align with Marketing and Communications Lead, Communications colleagues, Corporate Affairs and US Hospital team members to develop, coordinate and implement communications for externally facing colleagues and internal business communications and sales communications.
  • Collaborate across the organization to work with Corporate Affairs and PGS Communications leads to develop and align on standby statements, Q&As and key message documents for external use/ customer-facing colleague.
  • Manage planning and content development for internal communications vehicles and venues, including leader Town Hall meetings, SharePoint sites and national sales meetings
  • Develop communication strategies methods for sales teams regarding product priorities and status messaging for the Injectables business.
  • Support and execute critical marketing events, such as 4-5 large conventions and any relevant sales meetings.
  • Manage marketing and leadership content development as needed.
  • Partner effectively with Communications teams across Pfizer to align on internal and external strategic messaging and planning.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree in communications, business, journalism, English or related area.
  • 7-10 years’ experience, commercial and/or corporate communications.
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills.
  • Experience managing, supporting and/or executing conventions, exhibit booths or congresses.
  • Understanding of proper business objectives and messaging to key audiences at all levels of the organization
  • Strong knowledge of the U.S. field sales audience needs, i.e. sales cycle, customer profiles, sales tools.
  • Good knowledge of the U.S. brand and generic pharmaceutical marketplace
  • Able to work to tight deadlines, manage multiple projects at once and maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Proactive self-starter, and able to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with the biopharmaceutical industry or healthcare sector preferred; specific knowledge of Pfizer organization is a plus.

Organizational Relationships
The role interacts with leaders and colleagues across US Hospital Business Unit, including Marketing and Communications, Sales, Portfolio, Account Management, Business Analytics, Trade, Customer Service, Pfizer Global Supply, Corporate Affairs, Legal, Regulatory and Medical. The colleague also works with external public relations and advertising agencies.

  • Expected travel 10 -25 %
  • The position is located in north suburban Chicago/Lake Forest, IL; or Remote inside the United States.
