Position Summary:

With general supervision, use state-of-the art technology and software applications to consistently produce high-quality, creative work that anticipates National University System (NUS) marketing needs, on-time within budget. Conceive, create and manage original work with visual elements to meet the University’s marketing initiatives while integrating a cohesive visual approach using a variety of media modalities. Organize and lead creative assignments from conception to electronic output with comprehensive layouts for an assortment of publications and the Web.

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with other Graphic Designers, Art Directors, and the Associate Creative Director of Art to design conceptual and production heavy collateral for National University and affiliates. This work can include graphic design projects for website, digital, emails, print, paid/organic social, OOH, flyers, brochures, etc.
  • Create unique images for a variety of projects, which may potentially include presentations, brochures, advertisements, catalogs, direct mail, corporate identity, packaging and web/mobile sites
  • Design visual and brand identitities for new divisions or acquisitions as needed, as well as adaptation of existing materials
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including your partners in paid/organic social, account management, video, and email marketing strategy
  • Juggle numerous workflows in our project management software called Workfront
  • Work in an agile project management process known as Scrum
  • Demonstrate to clients that you understand their audience and marketing challenges and are responsive to their strategic and creative needs
  • Organize projects and files properly into our data asset management platform
  • Communicate frequently with the team throughout the week to prevent any roadblocks
  • Work with creative/account management to address performance, workflow, and quality issues

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in graphic design, visual arts and/or multimedia design preferred.
  • 5-7 years of graphic design experience preferably at an agency or in-house team.
  • Self-reliant and efficient in production heavy design. Ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Understanding of UI/UX web design and motion graphic design is a plus.
  • Collaborates with copywriters, art directors, designers and videographers on numerous types of projects.
  • Experience in higher education preferred, but not required.

Competencies/Technical/Functional Skills:

  • Proficient in the Adobe Creative Suite (PhotoShop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD)
  • Familiar with Project Management Software (i.e. Workfront)
  • Comfortable in the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) and the Google Suite (Slides, Docs)
  • Accepts personal accountability, proactively seeks resolution for personal limitations head-on; and supports honesty and respect towards others, the company and oneself.
  • Capable in developing new insights into situations; questions conventional approaches; encourages new ideas and innovations; designs and implements new or cutting-edge programs/processes. Ability to generate and/or recognize imaginative or creative solutions that generate successful outcomes.
  • Strong exceptional creative vision and attention to detail and accuracy combined with project management, technical, analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individual of constituencies in a diverse community and across the organization at all levels.
  • Work independently and foster a cooperative spirit within a large and/or small team of diverse cultures, while working in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and frequently changing priorities.

Candidate receiving offers will be offered a salary/pay rate commensurate with experience that vary based on a candidate’s qualifications, skills, and competencies. Absent exceptional circumstances, candidates will be offered a salary within this range for this position. Compensation Range

Annual Salary: $56,890.00 – $76,800.00
