Senior Frontend Engineer

Title: Senior Frontend Engineer

Location: Remote (US or Canada)

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, your primary focus will be leading the development of web application features and components. You will be working alongside full-stack developers, designers, and product owners to ensure the timely delivery of secure, accessible, high-quality and robust features. Due to the fast-paced and collaborative nature of the software development team, our ideal candidate will also need excellent teamwork and communication skills. As a senior member of the team, you will be relied upon as a leader and technical mentor for other engineers.

This position can be located in any geography in the US or Canada.

Responsibilities:

  • Build reusable and modular components following frontend development best practices.
  • Follow guidelines for ensuring web accessibility (WCAG, a11y).
  • Write tests and use automated testing tools to build quality control into the product.
  • Refactor code to improve readability and maintainability.
  • Participate in teamwide code reviews and provide feedback.
  • Stay up to date with JavaScript ecosystems.
  • Provide mentorship and coaching to junior developers.
  • Participate in maintenance and upkeep of technical documentation.
  • Apply secure application coding standards (OWASP 10).

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience working with Vue.js, React, or similar JavaScript frameworks.
  • Strong knowledge of JavaScript, ES6 syntax and other front-end technologies like HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience with consumption and manipulation of JSON REST APIs.
  • Good understanding of application design best practices.
  • Ability to write efficient, secure, well-documented, and clean JavaScript code.
  • Familiarity with automated JavaScript testing, specifically testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.
  • Proficiency with modern development tools, like Babel, Webpack, and Git.
