Position Description
**This is a remote position that can be home-based anywhere in the United States. Candidates must have ability to work with East Coast work schedule.**

Job Summary
The Senior Manager, Digital Advocacy Analytics and Web Operations will be responsible for providing expertise, direction, and operational support for analytics and optimization efforts across digital channels, including the website, email, social media, and mobile. They will be the lead on data analysis, reporting standards, and search engine optimization (SEO) in support of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network’s (ACS CAN) digital team’s ongoing efforts to improve engagement, visibility, user experience (UX), and accessibility for ACS CAN digital campaigns and volunteer engagement. In addition, the senior manager will play a core role in the operations and optimization of ACS CAN’s web presence on ACS CAN’s website, fightcancer.org. They will build engaging, accessible web pages, and will be responsible for providing expertise, training materials, guidance, and technical assistance to web content owners across the organization.

Major Responsibilities

  • Digital Analytics and SEO
  • Provide expertise and operational management of digital/social/web analytics and SEO to track and optimize usage and engagement on fightcancer.org. Help define, implement, and maintain standards for analytics reporting.
  • Gather, analyze, and present key metrics to understand digital and web performance while collaborating on ways to improve design, content, user experience (UX), and SEO with a data-driven approach.
  • Own SEO strategy and work with internal and external teams to ensure that the website is optimized for search.
  • Troubleshoot and support issues involving our web analytics and tagging implementations.
  • Monitor trends in digital analytics best practices and products. Periodically evaluate the effectiveness of analytics tools and processes, and propose changes as needed.
  • Conduct A/B/multivariant tests, user tests, and user surveys to optimize website functionality, usability, and content.

Digital/Web Production and Operations

  • Work with internal teams to ensure the fightcancer.org website complies with accessibility guidelines.
  • Provide guidance, production support, and page creation for new and updated content for fightcancer.org produced by other teams ensuring web content adheres to content strategy, voice and message guidelines, design principles, and accessibility.
  • Provide technical assistance, access, expertise, training, and troubleshoot issues for Drupal CMS and EveryAction CRM.
  • Monitor trends and best practices in digital advocacy and generate ideas to improve the performance and user experience on all digital platforms.
  • Manage projects, contracts, and budgets for vendors supporting digital and web strategy.
  • Participate in other projects as needed/assigned.

Position Requirements
Formal Knowledge

  • At least 5 years of related experience that includes managing analytics for websites and social media.
  • Experience working with advocacy organizations preferred.
  • Intensive expertise with Google Analytics (both UA and GA4), Google Tag Manager, Google Data Studio, and similar tools.
  • Expertise with Google Search Console, SEMRush, Moz, Sprout and similar tools.
  • Proven ability to execute SEO strategies that achieve demonstrable goals.
  • Familiarity with enterprise content management systems (Drupal preferred), basic HTML/CSS/JavaScript skills, and Web Accessibility.
  • Experience in selecting and editing images for digital content.
  • Familiarity with A/B and multivariate testing methodologies.

  • Quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with proven ability to demonstrate statistical literacy and data interpretation including how to leverage performance data to drive future strategy and content planning.
  • Excellent communication skills with a proven ability to deliver presentations and produce documentation.
  • Ability to track and manage budgets.
  • Experience managing vendors, including designers, web developers, and agencies/consultants.

The starting rate is $69000-$86000 annual. The final candidate’s relevant experience/skills will be considered before an offer is extended. Actual starting pay will vary based on non-discriminatory factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, experience, skills, specialty, and education.
