About The Role

The Analytics team does business and product analysis, builds frameworks and forecasts, tells data stories, and makes recommendations so that Mixpanel can run on data. Since Mixpanel’s mission is to enable our customers to be data-driven, it is only natural that Mixpanel itself is serious about being data-driven too. As a result our team’s scope covers the entire business and product.

Data Analysts at Mixpanel ensure that our go-to-market teams have access to the reporting and insights necessary to win. They collaborate with the leaders in these areas to design the right dashboards and metrics, and they answer important questions that go beyond the available metrics. As a Senior Data Analyst, you will have an opportunity for immediate impact in our product-led growth operations, and you will get to be hands-on with tools in the modern data stack like BigQuery, Looker, dbt, reverse ETL tools, and, of course, Mixpanel.

Responsibilities

  • Answer important business questions to inform our strategy and operations.
  • Work with go-to-market leadership to identify their teams’ data and reporting needs.
  • Conduct regular metrics and insights reviews with company leaders.
  • Forecast metrics and attribute metrics trends to internal and external factors.
  • Design the right data interfaces or data UX for internal users in operational teams to get easy access to the right data at the right time to best do their jobs.
  • Communicate analysis insights at all levels of the organization to drive positive change.

We’re Looking for Someone Who Has

  • Wants to drive positive change with recommendations rooted in data analysis
  • Ability to write SQL queries to build new dashboards and answer new questions.
  • Scripting ability in Python, R, or a similar language a big plus.
  • Experience collaborating effectively with teams and leaders in different parts of a business.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication

Compensation

The total target compensation (TTC) for this full-time position is $170,550-$208,450 across the United States. This amount includes base compensation and variable compensation in the form of either a company bonus or commissions. Variable compensation type is determined by your role and level. This position is also eligible for equity consideration and other benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance coverage. You can view our benefits offerings here.

Our salary ranges are determined by role and level and are benchmarked to the SF Bay Area Technology data cut released by Radford, a global compensation database. The range displayed represents the minimum and maximum TTC for new hire salaries for the position across all of our US locations. To stay on top of market conditions, we refresh our salary ranges twice a year so these ranges may change in the future. Within the range, individual pay is determined by experience, job-related skills, qualifications, and other factors.
