About the Senior Billing Specialist, Insurance A/R at Headspace Health:

We’re looking for a Senior Billing Specialist who can combine their healthcare experience with a fast-paced and ever-changing environment. You will be working with the Billing team to ensure timely and accurate insurance A/R resolution, research and review exceptions and escalations from the billing team, perform productivity and quality reporting, and document and improve team processes to ensure insurance billing is handled correctly from start to finish.

How your skills and passion will come to life at Headspace Health:

  • Serve as team lead for Insurance Follow-up Pod within the RCM team
  • Work assigned worklists of complex and high risk accounts, and meet production productivity and quality targets
  • Responsible for weekly cash reconciliation
  • Review stuck claim issues, and provide day-to-day support and coaching for the Insurance Follow-up Pod
  • Conduct A/R clean-up projects, and provide SWAT team support for high risk billing areas
  • Identify trending claim issues related to rejections, denials and underpayment, and make recommendations to RCM and Finance leadership on A/R risk remediation strategies
  • Produce and assign worklists for the team; monitor workload and make adjustments as needed
  • Responsible for carrying out and improving quality assurance and productivity reporting processes
  • Conduct ongoing quality audits, and perform staff training as needed
  • Identify and implement improvement and automation opportunities
  • Independently drive process improvement projects to accelerate insurance A/R resolution and reduce write-offs
  • Work closely with Product and Engineering teams on designing and testing technology enhancement opportunities and RCM system requirements; conduct user acceptance testing for RCM related product changes
  • Work cross-functionally with Support, Account Management, Channel Operations and Clinical Operations team on implementing and optimizing workflows for new and existing health plans and clients
  • Work cross-functionally with clinicians when coding and billing questions / issues arise
  • Monitor claims volume relative to staffing and work with RCM leadership on addressing any staffing capacity risks
  • Work with RCM leadership on creating and maintaining a productive, collaborative, and rewarding work environment
  • Uphold HIPAA compliance guidelines.

What you’ve accomplished:

  • 7+ years Revenue Cycle Management experience and knowledge of medical claims and health plan / EAP rules
  • Self-starter with strong billing, coding, and claims follow-up skills
  • Behavioral health / mental health service line and telehealth billing experience preferred
  • Experience in supervisory and managerial positions
  • Experience working with payer provider relations teams on trending payer issues, as well as working cross functionally with other Ginger teams (including credentialing, support, contracting, account management) to improve internal workflows
  • Proficient in Excel and data analysis
  • Strong root cause and problem solving skills
  • Ability to navigate occasionally complex workflows
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Technically savvy with claims billing software and Microsoft Office, with a desire to learn new software as well
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in behavioral health, telehealth, or digital health
  • Experience in B2B2C healthcare.
