About the Work:

This position is part of our Growth Tech team, which develops and supports systems for Home Instead franchise businesses, delivering client care. Our integrated, proprietary software is used by hundreds of businesses worldwide for sales, staffing, and operations.

You will develop new systems and functionalities to enhance operational workflows with AI-driven recommendations, prioritization, and automation. Our systems cover everything from caregiver hiring and staffing assignments to demand generation and cost optimization.

We have an exciting runway ahead. Building robust and scalable systems is crucial to innovating and increasing care for the rapidly growing aging population. We are making strategic technical investments to modernize our system with an extensible data service, AI-powered recommendations, and managed workflows across IoT and human-managed processes.

Join our dynamic Growth Tech team, as a Senior Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in revolutionizing client care operations!

About you:

  • You thrive in a diverse, cross-functional team, collaborating with design, product management, data, and care operations
  • You enjoy building clean interfaces and connecting them to backend services
  • You’ve built and maintained production-grade features in Python, or have transferable experience in common languages like Node.js and are willing to learn Python
  • You know how to design database models, and have used a relational or non-relational database at scale
  • You’ve been a key contributor to the design and implementation of large, complex projects such as core data plane request orchestration or design to launch new public APIs
  • You are comfortable working in and refactoring legacy, monolithic code to update and modernize
  • You are a strong communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • You have experience building distributed systems and cloud services like AWS, GCP
  • You are willing to participate in an on-call rotation in collaboration with our tier 1 support team (about 7 days per quarter)

Some, or all, of these are true:

  • You likely have 6+ years of experience with software development in a big tech company or a technology startup
  • You are considered an expert in microservice architecture across proprietary systems and commodity SaaS, including Salesforce, Quickbooks, ATS systems, and Wellsky.
  • Your architecture and workflows have automated manual processes for roles like account management, Sales teams, and franchise network roles.
  • You love exploring and prototyping with emerging technologies, including generative AI.
  • You have experience leveraging observability and monitoring tools like DataDog
  • You enjoy mentoring and spreading knowledge to other engineers by building reference implementations, prototypes, and code reviews.

Our range reflects the hiring range for this position. We use national average to determine pay as we are a remote first company. Individual pay is based on a number of factors including qualifications, skills, experience, education, and training.

Base pay is just a part of our total rewards program. Honor offers generous equity packages that increase with position level and responsibilities, and a 401K with up to a 4% employer match.
We provide medical, dental and vision coverage including zero cost plans for employees. Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability and Life Insurance are fully employer paid with a voluntary additional Life Insurance option. Hiring Salary Range

$171,500—$205,000 USD

Honor is remote friendly! We’re hiring across the U.S., with an entirely virtual interview and onboarding process. Most of our positions are remote/work from home and do not require permanent relocation. As conditions allow, we have office space for in-person collaboration in our San Francisco Bay Area, CA, Austin, TX, and Omaha, NE hubs.
