Job description

Are you a proactive and self-starting QA leader with a passion for driving software excellence? Do you thrive in hands-on roles and enjoy the challenge of building QA practices from the ground up? We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and driven Quality Assurance Manager to join our small SaaS company.

As our QA Manager, you will be a key player in starting, building and leading our QA team. Given the current state where our software developers handle testing, we need someone who can take charge and be hands-on in managing risks, ensuring feature rollouts meet high-quality standards, and setting up effective QA practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Team Building: As a self-starter, you will take the lead in building a strong QA team. You’ll be involved in hiring, training, and providing guidance to develop a cohesive and highly efficient QA function.
  • Risk Management: Take charge of risk assessments for new feature releases and system changes. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure smooth feature rollouts.
  • Hands-on Testing: Being hands-on is crucial, especially in the early stages. You will actively participate in testing activities alongside the development team, providing insights and feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Test Strategy: Collaborate closely with development teams to create effective test strategies and plans. Ensure comprehensive test coverage for all features and functionalities.
  • AI and Automation: Drive the evaluation and adoption of test automation tools and frameworks to increase testing efficiency. Your hands-on expertise will be vital in setting up and maintaining automation processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Instill a culture of continuous improvement within the QA team and across the organization. Your proactive approach will foster innovation and learning.

Job requirements

  • Experience: 3+ years of hands-on experience in software development or automation testing
  • Self-Starter: Proven track record of taking initiative and being hands-on in driving QA efforts.
  • Team Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and mentor a QA team in a dynamic environment.
  • Risk Management: Experienced in managing risks associated with software releases and system changes.
  • Collaboration: Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities.
