The Product Manager, Search is a senior-level Product Manager who owns the vision and strategy, roadmap, and feature definition for Product and Services driving the search and discovery components of the Advance Auto Parts Omni Channel Catalog. Search experience must extend beyond SEO or writing for search. The Product Manager must be familiar with the multiple search services across the marketplace and the differences between and benefits of each. To that end, candidates must have a minimum of one year of experience focusing solely on Search.
Responsibilities include defining the roadmap as well as planning and managing product Features through the product development, launch and iteration process. The Product Manager is responsible for defining KPI's across the Product area, and reporting against those metrics on an ongoing basis, as well as following launches.
This role manages the product backlogs for a Product group while prioritizing work across multiple scrum teams and making Product-related decisions based on the needs and expectations of customers and stakeholders. They work hand-in-hand with engineering managers and leads, attending Planning, Refinement and sometimes Daily Stand-Ups to ensure planned work and work in progress is aligned to established priorities. They will be ultimately responsible for ensuring that Features are managed in JIRA and will leverage that information, as well as other mechanisms to communicate upward, as well keeping partners and external stakeholders updated.
Due to the strategic requirements of the position, the individual must understand and be able to articulate the end-to-end vision for a Product, its future roadmap, and where it sits within the overall technology ecosystem. They partner closely with the business and stakeholders to understand pain points, business goals, and the go-to-market strategy and identifies and manages projects with a high level of autonomy.
The Product Manager should actively engage with and seek mentorship from more senior Product Managers in the People Management and Individual Contributor tracks in order to determine which path they plan to pursue. They should actively mentor Product Managers and Associate Product Managers in order to assist them in develop their knowledge and Product Management skills.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree and/or
• 4 years of experience in product management, measurably driving the successful delivery of Features
• Able to communicate clearly the definition of their Product area, the overview and goals of a Feature, and the work needed to develop it both orally and in writing.
• Experience in an agile software environment
• Experience working across multiple products and organizations
• Experience working closely with leadership
• Ability to define, measure, and report KPI's
