Patient Services Coordinator/Admin Assistant - Genetic Counseling - Remote

Labcorp Genetics is seeking a remote-based Patient Services Coordinator to join its Genetic Counseling team. This position will provide client, patient, and internal client services for our National Genetic Counseling teams including patient scheduling, results tracking, and chartflow. The Patient Services Coordinator will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that require a high level of attention to detail and excellent customer service skills.

The schedule for this position will be: Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm eastern time


Please note: this position is 100% remote. Candidate can be located anywhere in the US, however, must be able to work Eastern Time Zone hours


Responsibilities:

  • Provide primary and backup coverage for all office activities
  • Answer phones from clients, patients, and internal staff
  • Schedule appointments for genetic counseling and related procedures, where applicable, and complete appropriate follow-up
  • Conduct Kofax E-Chart Validations
  • Monitor client referrals with no appointments and follow up with self-scheduled patients for records, referral indication etc.
  • Develop expertise in the use of reporting systems, scheduling platform, and any new IT systems
  • Perform Data Governance updates and platform additions of MDs for results reporting
  • Monitor systems including phone, faxing, e-faxing systems and computer. Notify relevant provider or IT of outages or issues
  • Function within the corporate compliance program and applicable state/federal regulations
  • Follow Labcorp policies regarding protected health information (PHI); maintain confidentiality

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of medical terminology highly preferred
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent ability to listen and respond
  • High level of attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Must be courteous with strong customer service orientation
  • Excellent multitasking abilities required
  • Bilingual skills (Spanish) highly preferred
