Position description This is a full-time remote position in the United States. The Solutions Accelerator Operations team within the Mayo Clinic Cloud Division is seeking a motivated, skilled Senior Cloud Developer (Sr. Analyst/Programmer) who will assist in the support and maintenance of Mayo Clinic Cloud Accelerator's products and services. Looking for people desiring to build apps in the cloud for rated hospital in the world". Successful candidates shall have development experience (preferably with Python, Java, and/or other object- oriented languages), good working experience/knowledge of Cloud-based technologies, experience with Linux (bash) command line scripting, and writing SQL queries (BigQuery SQL dialect especially). Additionally, strong oral and written communications skills, and be excited about working in a well-managed agile team. Furthermore, + Strong understanding of cloud services, DevOps toolsets and platforms including compute, storage, networking, Kubernetes, serverless, CI/CD + Troubleshoot production incidents which span multiple teams and service lines + Provide ongoing support and maintenance of internal tools to improve system health and reliability + Assist/collaborate with functional teams and projects spanning hybrid on-premises and cloud technologies + Participate in an on-call rotation that supports production infrastructure + Continue to develop our expanding Infrastructure as Code (IAC) repository with the vision of automating everything + Review system additions and/or enhancements and makes recommendations to management + Develop documentation for new and/or existing systems + Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology + Participate in special projects as required + Constantly willing to help other team members by providing training and technical guidance + Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Preferred skills and experience include: + Extensive experience with Cloud development/technologies like Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Serverless hosting + Working experience Infrastructure as Code (IAC) such as Terraform + Administration in Google Cloud Platform + General experience with Azure DevOps/GitHub Enterprise including pipeline integrations + Knowledge of Secrets management integrations including Google Secrets Manager, HashiCorp Vault, and CyberArk Conjur + Peripheral Identity experience such as authentication, authorization, federation, and OIDC Responsible for the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of custom system software, and/or the installation and maintenance of purchased systems software, as well as the configuration and support of hardware systems across Mayo Clinic. In conjunction with more senior technical staff, develops proposals that consider alternatives and business case, and gains needed institutional approvals. Evaluates alternative approaches and presents recommendations to teams and unit leadership. Regularly reviews applications and makes modifications and/or updates to ensure currency and functionality within established environment. Maintains and supports multiple systems or complex software applications and their associated hardware at multiple Mayo Clinic sites. Produces and maintains documentation such as system requirements, designs, resource inventories, and plans. Provides technical and project leadership to other staff members, demonstrates initiative, and works independently as needed to accomplish responsibilities. Works effectively across departmental organizations gaining consensus of stakeholders. May interface with vendor support service groups or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Acts as a liaison to Mayo departments and vendors to adequately support the division's computing systems. Interfaces routinely with colleagues who may be located at any of the Mayo Group practices to perform job responsibilities requiring virtual collaboration and partnership. May be required to provide 24/7 on-call support. Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 3 years' experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience; Or, Associate's degree and 7 years' experience, including 1 year demonstrated technical experience. Authorization to work and remain in the United States, without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorship now, or in the future (for example, be a U.S. Citizen, national, or permanent resident, refugee, or asylee). Evidence of ability to take initiative and proactive on starting tasks and assignments and ability to work independently. Experience working in healthcare technology. Exposure to managing both custom developed and vendor-supplied applications. Masters degree in applicable field preferred.
