Responsibilities

  • Fuse best practices related to IT and data governance and documentation change control into the technical and functional requirement development process for graphical presentations of complex data
  • Build relationships with multiple stakeholders to diligently identify documentation processes including controls as well as key functional content, stakeholders and related attributes including data fields
  • Use business and functional analytic experience to embed deeply into areas by researching, analyzing, building relationships, understanding changes, ensuring proactive action when possible, providing optimal customer support, and identifying risks to mitigate or avoid (i.e., data feed malfunctions/outputs)
  • Coordinate with other VA groups to reestablish data links/fixes/etc.
  • Dependable team player, supporting the overall business and governance processes project management, requirements identification and refinement, monitoring, as well as risk and issue identification
  • Interact frequently with Health PMO Portfolio and Project customers and stakeholders, engaged in health-related software delivery to obtain and refine requirements related to functional and technical documentation, dashboard development and data analytics
  • Own the documentation and governance steps which lead to designing, developing, testing, maintaining and enhancing content and related solutions to graphical business intelligence and analytics presentations, including scope, definition of done’ and timelines
  • Adhere to a design process using specifications, data flows, other accepted intuitive, user-centered design techniques to develop accessible, easy-to-navigate, innovative content that interfaces with other innovative tools such as Power BI
  • Follow standards, policies and established guidelines for development and delivery of software and web applications
  • Develop and maintain software and web development technical documentation to assist with software and web application maintenance and upgrades
  • Promote best practices of access management, complex enterprise-wide collaboration methods, data workflows and analytics
  • Conducts periodic analyses, identifying improvement opportunities and potentially enterprise-wide best practices
  • Maintain and report data analytics related metrics for assigned products
  • Create, track, and maintain all documents artifacts related to this role

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Engineering, Computer Science, Systems, Business or related scientific /technical discipline
  • 5 years’ related experience (+10 years of additional relevant experience may be substituted for education)
  • Must have experience and deep knowledge of business, functional and technical areas/disciplines and be able to conduct research on special areas
  • Must have experience with proposing new solutions to problems in the areas of their functional expertise
  • Solid business process engineering and reengineering experience
  • Proven relationship building and negotiation abilities based on strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong understanding of IT and data Governance best practices and framework components, including processes, roles, standards, toolkits and metrics
  • Ability to balance and meet scope, timeline, risk management, change management and communication requirements as related to data analytics tasks, with appropriate level of engagement and autonomy
  • Ability to maintain workload in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  • Experience working in environments that deploy waterfall and agile development
  • Experience with Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.), as well as Jira for software development requirements and configuration management
  • Strong analytical, abstraction, and problem-solving skills
  • Able to identify and engage the appropriate stakeholders to ensure tasks and activities are completed on schedule
  • Ability to digest requirements and evaluate functions to ensure standards and requirements are met
  • Ability to drive tasks to completion with limited supervision while working in a remote environment

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Business Process Engineering/Reengineering expertise or certification
  • Hands-on experience directly with the Veterans Affairs or other government agency IT work
  • Experience developing and connecting SharePoint end points to Power BI
  • Experience with data visualization and data representation
  • Experience with DevSecOps initiatives
  • PMP Certification, SAFe POPM Certification, Scrum master Certification, or other Agile/SAFe certifications are a plus

Compensation Range (In compliance with Colorado’s Equal Pay for Equal Work Act for remote or positions located in CO)
