Information Security Training & Awareness Instructor (work from home)

The work location for this exciting opportunity is virtual. The selected candidate will work 100% remotely from home and can be located anywhere in the United States.

About the job:

The American Red Cross is actively seeking an Information Security Training & Awareness Instructor. The instructor will design, deliver, maintain, and enhance ARC's Information Security Awareness Program. The purpose of Information Security awareness and training is to provide user the knowledge and skills they need to behave in a secure manner, and by doing so help mitigate risk to the organization.

This position requires an individual with a calm, patient and empathetic demeanor who will collaborate with ARC departments to identify awareness needs, build effective communication and training methods, and produce user-friendly documentation and training materials. The instructor must be comfortable delivering training both in-person and virtually using a web or video camera using remote collaboration software (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Webex). You will be expected to produce and deliver awareness events, webinars, department and/or individual training to end-users. Additionally, you must measure the effectiveness of the program and adapt material in response to changing business needs, threats, policies, technology, and infrastructure.

What you will be doing:
  • Design, implement and measure information security awareness and training program
  • Design content (slides, instructing aids, web content, webinars, tutorials, etc) for wide-spread, department, and/or individual 1-on-1 security awareness of information security topics
  • Scope, design, develop, and deliver learning programs and materials that support a variety of delivery types, including virtual/web-based, self-paced, blended, and leader-led (live facilitation) formats
  • Leverage learning analytics, web analytics, and user feedback to recommend improvements for each offering
  • Administer training environments, courses and/or 3rd party training platforms.
  • Assess needs and deliver on intended learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate and recommend training solutions and/or content providers
  • Manage vendor relationships related to awareness program.
  • On-going professional development (attending industry-relevant conferences, webinars, etc.)
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Ability to optimally address both technical and non-technical audiences
