At ProWritingAid, our mission is to help people become better writers so they can share their ideas, stories, and knowledge.

Words shape the world, and we have a unique opportunity to help shape and improve those words. If you love inspiring, educating, and helping people, then this is the right place for you. You’ll be helping not only our users but also the millions of children and adults inspired by their words.

We’re a 100% remote team spread across more than ten countries brought together by a love of language. By focusing on sustainable growth and the happiness of our team, we’ve been in business for over 8 years and are still growing strongly without any VC funding.

We are on the lookout for a talented, creative, and passionate Illustrative Storyteller to join our dynamic team.

If you are someone who thrives in a creative environment, has a flair for creating compelling visual narratives, and is ready to redefine industry standards, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

  • Create visually compelling and engaging illustrative content that aligns with our brand’s voice, mission, and objectives.
  • Develop a unique illustrative style that is heavily influenced by the whimsical and imaginative nature of children’s book illustrations.
  • Collaborate closely with the website, branding agency, and marketing teams to create cohesive visual narratives that enhance and elevate our brand’s presence across various platforms.
  • Translate complex concepts and information into captivating visual stories that are accessible and engaging to a diverse audience.
  • Actively participate in creative brainstorming sessions, contributing innovative ideas and concepts that push creative boundaries.
  • Monitor trends in illustration and design to ensure our brand remains current, relevant, and ahead of the curve while avoiding mainstream, corporate aesthetics.
  • Revise and refine illustrations based on feedback to ensure they meet quality and brand standards.
  • Adhere to timelines and project deadlines, ensuring deliverables are met with excellence and precision.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in illustration, with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of styles and projects (experience in children’s book illustration is a plus).
  • Proficiency in using illustration and design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Procreate, or equivalent).
  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling, with the ability to convey complex information through illustrations.
  • Exceptional creativity and innovation, with a strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, prioritizing effectively to meet deadlines.
