Littera Education is looking for part-time 100% virtual reading and/OR math tutors to join our Fall 2023 tutor pool for the upcoming school year as fingerprinted tutors. Littera will provide the fingerprinting details and cover the cost of your fingerprinting. As a tutor, you will be responsible for providing tutoring to K-6 students across the United States who need additional academic support.

We offer flexible scheduling, so you can choose your own hours to week based on your availability! Tutors at Littera enjoy a consistent schedule when booked as part of a high dosage tutoring model where tutors meet with the same student for an ongoing session series. We are expecting a high demand for tutoring between the hours of 6pm ET to 9pm ET, if these hours are a match for your schedule that is a plus! Additional tutoring availability is also welcome, as tutoring sessions take place at Littera between the hours of 7am to 9pm ET, Monday to Friday.

Application Process:

  1. Selected applicants will be asked to record and submit a one question, two minute response, sharing their experience working with students.
  2. Meet with a tutor mentor and participate in a brief virtual mock tutoring appointment to demonstrate your virtual classroom and tutor skills – with content we will provide.
  3. Tutors that receive an offer will be asked to consent to a background check, successfully complete fingerprinting forms, and schedule an in-person fingerprinting appointment within ten days of signing your tutor agreement.

*Note: All applicants will be required to complete the Littera tutor fingerprinting steps. Previous fingerprinting results are not transferable.

Requirements:

  • Relevant experience working with school-age learners in some capacity.
  • Ability to instruct and engage students with clear communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A high comfort level with online virtual tools and technology.
  • A computer with the Chrome browser, a camera, and a quality internet connection.
  • Tutors must reside in the continental United States, Alaska, or Hawaii and have a USA based bank account to receive payments.

Please note, this is a remote contract position and is not full-time. This role is perfect for you if you are interested in earning supplemental income with a flexible schedule that you choose, we do not guarantee a set number of hours per week. At Littera Education, our mission supports equitable, high-quality tutoring reaching students in school districts across the United States. Our high-dosage tutoring model pairs students with the same tutor for 2-3 sessions a week.

Pay Rate:
Tutors earn $18 per hour.

Optional: Successfully complete an Algebra I assessment and earn $22 per hour for any high school Algebra I tutoring sessions.
