The Director, eCommerce Merchandizing will be responsible for managing the onsite merchandising for our eCommerce sites (Fender.com, Jackson.com, Presonus.com) and delivering best-in-class content tailored for our digital channel. This includes the strategy, planning and overseeing a team of merchandisers. This role will champion a best-in-class shopper experience that will enable the business to deliver on superior CX and revenue objectives.

About the Job:

  • Ensure that FMI eCommerce sites (desktop and mobile) deliver a best-in-class shopping experience to prospects and customers by way of effective merchandising and content
  • Work closely with the eCommerce Optimization Manager and VP eCommerce to develop plans to meet revenue objectives
  • Define content production requirements collaborating with key stakeholders from Marketing accordingly and overseeing photo shoots for merch consistency
  • Be accountable for the overall eCommerce site’s visual identity ensuring strategic consistency, adherence to brand guidelines, and cohesion with the overall brand and accounting for eCommerce best practices. As such, you will help to define Merchandising guidelines into the future
  • Drive the execution of merchandising in support of the DTC eCommerce activation plans, providing support to all relevant stakeholders
  • Participate in the planning of the yearly digital activities on FMIC eCommerce platforms in order to ensure that eCommerce and Marketing roadmaps are taken into account within local ecommerce operational plan
  • Continuously audit competitive sites and market standards to define guidelines and deploy improvements to the overall customer shopping experience
  • Leverage eCommerce data and analytics to optimize catalog listings and content for cross sell, upsell, recommendations resulting in conversion and engagement
  • Lead a team to optimize the browse experience to ensure shoppers can easily find the right product, at the right time, at the right price
  • Create and implement a visual merchandising strategy that will deliver a best-in-class experience & performance through the assessment and optimization of eMerchandising, catalog management, personalization, brand content, sorting rules, search results etc.
  • Oversee best in class go to market (product launches, campaigns etc.) accounting for nuances of eCommerce channel
  • Proactively work with Allocation Analyst to ensure products are in stock and highlighted to meet budget goals
  • Help co-develop a personalization strategy and roadmap focused on guided selling. Advise on current tools and future needs.
  • Build best in class SEO practices into day-to-day merchandising management
  • Implement a strategy for brand selling and building content to elevate the shopping experience and drive conversion
  • Ensure market’s digital content, services & features are consistent and relevant for a seamless customer experience across all digital touch points
  • Grow and develop a high-performance team of data driven merchandisers
  • Support both Americas and core global markets such as EMEA
  • Additional duties as assigned

What you need:

  • 8+ years of eMerchandising experience
  • 8+ years of experience in eCommerce Platforms (Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Magento, Hybris)
  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience
  • Strong communication and project management skills required
  • AB/Personalization testing experience preferred
  • Strong analytics skills, with a focus on eCommerce tools (Google Analytics, Segment, Tableau)
  • Background in luxury, lifestyle eRetail preferred. Musical background a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of Product Information Management as it relates to digital merchandising
  • Fundamental knowledge of SEO and Content best practices
