Insurity’s Next Developer

Our Developer will work on a multi-functional Agile development team supporting Insurity Decisions Suite products. They will own development items end-to-end, participate in SDLC estimation and development processes, and provide mentorship to other team members. We are looking for a forward-thinking, motivated full-stack software developer who loves technology, is passionate about building quality software, learns from failures and wants to grow with the Insurity team.

What Our Developer Will Do

  • Define, design, and implement technical solutions
  • Provide in-depth technical troubleshooting, defect investigation, remediation, and root-cause analysis of items
  • Provide estimation and planning input for moderately sophisticated projects/solutions/work items
  • Provide peer-review of designs, code, and artifact delivery
  • Work with QA to identify impact and assist with test case development and implement testing approaches as part of all solutions (including automation where appropriate)
  • Develop technical documentation for software solutions for targeted audiences, which may include internal and external customers
  • Follow existing Insurity standards for coding, documentation, and impact assessments

Who We’re Looking For

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in software development with C#, TSQL and JavaScript, working with Web Services/Microservices, and working virtually, on a distributed team across multiple locations/time zones
  • Proficient in object oriented and SOLID principles, C# / .NET Framework, .NET Core, ASP.NET MVC, JQuery, HTML, JS, CSS, MSS / TSQL, SOAP, WebAPI / REST, and JSON API
  • Strong written and oral English communication skills with an ability to facilitate meetings, present information to a variety of audiences and explain complex/technical items in simple terms
  • Business knowledge of insurance industry is a plus
  • Business knowledge of billing, accounting, or payment industry is a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 25% (travel is minimal)

Where: This role can be performed either remotely or based in our Hartford, CT office.

We continuously analyze and update our salary ranges for our roles according to market trends to not only ensure our employees are paid fairly, but also help close gender, race, and disability wage gaps. Along with the benefits listed above, the salary range for this role is $65,000 to $120,000, commensurate with experience.
