Role: Data Scientist, Risk Analytics

  • The Data Scientist, Risk Analytics will create innovative approaches to statistical data modeling and analytics by using Natural Language Processing on unstructured/alternative data sources to enhance the business failure risk as well as business fraudulent risk.
  • Support the development of new proof-of-concepts for D&B’s risk analytics products in our Analytics Studio (a cloud-based analytics platform where clients can test the new products).
  • Work with internal / external D&B clients and stakeholders to identify their business needs and opportunities, to develop, implement, and manage solutions, and to improve business results.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
  • Participate in all aspects of a modeling engagement, including design, development, validation, calibration, documentation, approval, implementation, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Research complex business issues and recommend solutions, including model inputs and end products.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on predictive models within the Advanced Analytic Services team and with business users; consult with the business, as appropriate, on predictive modeling solutions.
  • Validate the performance of existing quantitative risk models, to ensure that key KPIs are set and attained, and to recommend changes when necessary.
  • Develop a solid working knowledge of how current systems and data sources are used in existing predictive modeling projects; and drive timely retrieval of risk analytics data from existing systems to create algorithms that meet business needs.
  • Manage multiple assignments, many of which with challenging timelines, both working independently and collaborating effectively in a team environment.
  • Partner with internal D&B team to develop new business solutions in risk analytics.

Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Economics or a related quantitative field (U.S. or foreign degree equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience in advanced statistical and data analytics or a related role.
  • Prior experience must also include three (3) years of experience in/with: PySpark, Python and SQL for Big Data Mining and building innovative predictive algorithms; Web/Cloud Analytics; AWS and Azure cloud based platforms, specifically using various UI/editors to write code and/or implement Machine Learning Models within these platforms; experience with building Credit Risk Models in Python and/or PySpark; commercial finance data; and communicating complex ideas to both a technical and non-technical audience.
  • Prior experience must include one (1) year of experience in/with Natural Language Processing and parsing textual datasets.
  • May work from home from any location in the U.S. or from any Dun & Bradstreet office in the U.S.
