Marathon Health is seeking a full-time Data Scientist responsible for the development and execution of our advanced analytics strategy including the development of standard internal and external reporting and the principal consultant on implementation of advanced analytics. This role will collaborate to perform big data analytics and work with domain experts to construct ML and AI models to improve member health. The Data Scientist will work closely with internal and external stakeholders to build actionable analytics insights that help us actualize our care model and transform millions of lives.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as subject matter expert and provide guidance to leaders in data interpretation and model development and implementation.
  • Develop analytics and dashboards that enable data-driven decision-making by the business operations and clinical teams, with a focus on cost, utilization, care improvement opportunities, patient risk, and clinical quality outcomes.
  • Use a flexible and analytical approach to design, develop, and evaluate predictive and prescriptive models and advanced algorithms that lead to identification, stratification, and engagement of the Marathon Health member population.
  • Assist teams in creating reporting resources and datasets that are well designed, easily maintained, and repeatable.
  • Produce clear and concise summaries of analytical findings for easy consumption by a variety of audiences throughout Marathon Health.
  • Help guide the enhanced analytics function across the Marathon Health organization.
  • Responsible for understanding and performing internal reporting as well as ad-hoc data queries and proactive analysis to help leadership team improve decision-making.
  • Gather, manage and synthesize large amounts of information effectively and creatively.
  • Analyze external/internal clinical data and provide recommendations to drive improvements.
  • Create documentation and training materials for technical and non-technical users of our data and analytics products

Qualifications

  • Strong Healthcare Data Knowledge with minimum of 5 years of Data Analytics Experience required
  • Master’s Degree in relevant field required
  • Prior experience working directly with clinical data, particularly doing data wrangling of raw Electronic Health Data (e.g., Athena EMR) or claims data is a strong plus
  • Understanding of reporting and data systems
  • Ability to translate complex information into workable sets of information.
  • Knowledge in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modeling) and Data Cleansing, wrangling, data mining.
  • Highly experienced using statistical computer languages (R, Python, SAS, Spark, SQL, etc.) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Strong understanding of how to convert data into solid visualizations (Tableau, Qlik etc)
  • Prior experience building large scale pipeline health dashboards also a strong plus
