Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings - carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. Purpose of the Position: This position is responsible for providing customer service, support, and engineering for in-building wireless voice and data systems. The successful candidate will need to provide professional on/off-site support for commissioning and troubleshooting of in-building wireless systems as well as provide remote telephone support for customers. The successful candidate will become a subject matter expert for all technical issues related to the Corning Wireless Product Family. Additionally, the position cross collaborates to participate in product development, field trials, product line management initiatives and other project teams consistent with their own technical and construction management experience. Travel requirements: Up to 75% domestically which can vary based upon customer engagements, meetings, and field activities Requirements: Bachelor of Science degree in a technical field 2+ years DAS/RAN experience required 2+ years' experience commissioning and troubleshooting Distributed Antenna Systems/Radio Access Networks Background in Wireless, Mobility, Cellular, TCP/IP Networking, RF Engineering or System Performance Experience with field deployment, acceptance processes, and support services Experience and knowledge of deploying Small Cells and/or Distributed Antenna Systems Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in Telecommunications Understanding of 802.11 Wi-Fi technology and trends Familiarity with 3GPP and 3GPP2 standards and best practices Corning DAS/RAN experience This position does not support immigration sponsorship. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
