Job Description:
We are seeking a talented UX Designer to join our dynamic team at Cover Whale. As the UX Designer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing external and internal user experience, including the trucking platform, and Admin portal, ensuring intuitive and user-friendly interactions for our agents, UWs, Actuarial, Billing and Collections team, and the Customer Experience Team.
What will you Do:
- Partner with the UX Lead to enhance the UX design strategy and direction for digital products and services in collaboration with product managers, project managers, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and analysis to inform design decisions and enhance user satisfaction.
- Create wireframes, prototypes, user flows, and journey maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas.
- Establish and maintain design guidelines, best practices, and standards.
- Collaborate closely with external vendors, internal and external engineering teams, and product managers to deliver compelling user experiences that align with business goals.
- Advocate for user-centered design principles and methodologies within the organization.
- Monitor and analyze user feedback and behavior to continuously improve the user experience.
- Ability to work in a start-up environment where roles and responsibilities flex based on the needs of the team and the company.
- Ability to understand the work completed and work remaining and be able to move it forward (instead of reinventing).
- Work on initiatives that may not directly relate to UX design, but bring in elements like process mapping, business process design, and minor content writing.
- Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and technologies related to UX design and usability.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or related field.
- Proven experience (4+ years) as a UX designer, UX lead, or similar role within the Property & Casualty Insurance industry or related field.
- Strong portfolio showcasing UX design projects and processes, including wireframes, prototypes, and user research.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Figma.
- Solid understanding of front-end development technologies, along with integration with data sources and applications, and their impact on UX design.
- Experience with Agile/Scrum/Kanban methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with accessibility standards and best practices.
- Knowledge of data analytics and its role in UX design decisions.
