About the Role

Axuall is seeking a creative, self-directed and highly motivated UX Designer to drive user research, feature design, and vision for future user flows. Someone who is driven to create user experiences that emphasize speed and ease of use.

As a UX Designer at Axuall, you’ll collaborate closely with product, engineering, and the client service team to gather crucial information, share innovative ideas, present research findings, and ultimately create polished designs. To gain valuable user insights, you’ll employ various methods, including the analysis of user data and direct engagement with customers and users. This approach will guide your direction and design choices, ensuring they align with user goals, alleviate pain points, accommodate individual user circumstances, and promote sustainable design that can evolve alongside Axuall’s product growth.

This is a unique opportunity to work on all of Axuall’s products, each with its own needs and challenges. The UX Designer’s initial focus will be on the Axuall wallet, engaging with clinicians to improve the credentialing process and delivering value to clinicians beyond the wallet. Another solution is Axuall’s staff facing admin center, where the focus will be on optimizing workflows for our client’s end users. Finally, you will have the opportunity to shape Axuall’s Workforce Intelligence analytics solution, which will require an eye for data presentation and dashboards.

What You’ll Do

  • User Research
    • Interview/survey customers and users
    • Familiarize yourself with support tickets and customer requests
    • Test scenarios in lower environments

    Prototype

    • Translate user needs and solutions via whiteboarding, storyboarding, wireframes, mockups, and/or prototypes
    • Present and workshop creations with internal stakeholders (product, engineering, customer success, implementation)
    • Occasionally present and gather feedback about creations from customers

    Design

    • Collaborate with product during feature planning to advocate for Axuall’s users
    • Create final mockups and/or designs for feature work to be executed on by engineering
    • Work with product to create iterations of each design broken down according to user stories
    • Create mockups for release notes/ customer communication

    Monitor

    • Work with Product to monitor the roll-out of features and brainstorm future iterations

    Iterate

    • Rework old designs as features are revisited for improvements

    Envision

    • Zooming out to a 1000ft view of our product, envision how we can improve our products as a whole to work towards our business goals and the goals of our customers

    Sustain

    • Manage component library
    • Ensure designs are up-to-date or properly archived

What You Bring

Candidates for the UX Designer position must demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing successful designs for complex web applications or data visualization projects
  • Domain Knowledge: Familiarity with SaaS solutions and/or healthcare technology products will be a significant advantage
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical or creative field
  • Design Tools: Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Axure, Sketch, Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar as well as analytical tools such as Heap, Pendo, or Amplitude
  • Prototyping Skills: Experience with interactive prototyping tools like Axure, InVision, Marvel, or Proto.io to demonstrate design concepts and interactions
  • Collaborative Mindset: Strong teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills, with an ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • User-Centered Approach: A deep understanding of user-centered design principles, usability, and accessibility best practices
  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex data requirements and transform them into intuitive and user-friendly designs
  • Communication: Strong ability to convey concepts through written and verbal communication
  • Efficiency: Effectively work on multiple projects simultaneously, with shifting priorities
  • Creativity and Innovation: Passion for creativity and finding innovative solutions to design challenges
