We are searching for qualified remote tutors to aid students across the nation in developing their ELA, Reading, and Math skills! Support these classrooms, teachers and students this school year! - Location: REMOTE
- Hours: M-F, 20-30 hrs/week during school hours
- Pay: Based on experience and certification – $18-$25/hr!
The Tutor is responsible for assisting students in meeting their educational goals and aspirations through positive educational support and direct tutoring. The Tutors is also responsible for enhancing study skills and facilitating the understanding of educational concepts. Sessions should facilitate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities in an individual, group, virtual or in person setting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides lessons or teaching in a variety of settings: in person, virtually, groups or individuals
- Creates lesson plans tailored to students’ ability levels, learning styles, grade level, curriculum and experiences
- In accordance with individual educational goals, provide training and/or assistance to ensure growth toward goals
- Listens to and responds to the needs of students , parents/guardians, and school district
- Assists students to:
- To develop and/or maintain a structured study plan
- To improve and maintain self-confidence in the academic environment with ensuring a calm and quiet study environment
- In the development of adaptive and effective coping skills with academic related anxiety
- With access to community resources that assist students with educational/academic goals
- To realize their educational and vocational goals and help attain academic outcomes
- Utilizes State specific core curriculum content standards in every tutoring session and documents appropriately in tutor progress note (if applicable per state working in)
- Completes all mandated supervision and training and maintain as required
- Advocates for students in all situations
- Bilingual abilities may be requested
- Ability to work as a member of a team, to complete tasks as instructed, be receptive to new ideas, and be creative in solving problems
- Ability to also work autonomously, setting goals for work tasks and using strategies to effectively meet goals
Minimum Requirements:
- Teacher Credential Certification/ Licensure as required by state or contract
- Degree in Education or relevant field as required by state or contract
- Experience in tutoring, preferred
- 2 years teaching experience, preferred
- Experience or credential in Special Education, preferred
- Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice
- Participation and completion of the Company’s competency program when applicable
- Current CPR if applicable
- TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
- Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)
- Must meet all federal, state and local requirements
- Successful completion of new hire training as applicable to job site
- Understand patient confidentiality and HIPAA requirements
- Ability to effectively elicit/provide information to and from appropriate individuals (including, but not limited to, supervisors, co-workers, clients) via strong communication skills; proficiency in the English language is required
- Computer proficiency required
- Must be at least 18 years of age
