About the role:

We are looking for a software engineer to join our Frontend Platform team. You will be working alongside our product and SRE teams to improve the codebase health, iteration velocity, and overall reliability of the Vercel platform. You will play a crucial role in enhancing the developer experience, ensuring high-quality code, and enabling the efficient delivery of frontend features and improvements.

What you will do:

  • Implement and maintain a visual regression system to prevent visual bugs from sneaking in unintentionally.
  • Maintain our integration test suite with a goal of easy implementation, zero flake, and fast execution.
  • Improve the overall codebase health by bringing older areas up to date with the latest best practices.

About you:

  • You have at least 4+ years of experience in frontend engineering, with a deep understanding of Javascript, TypeScript and React.
  • You have some experience with visual regression testing.
  • You are passionate about developer experience (DX) and developer velocity.
  • You are able to drive a project from idea to completion without a step-by-step guide.
  • Bonus if you:
  • Have experience implementing visual regression testing.
  • Have a history of deep performance work.
  • Have experience with Next.js and Webpack performance optimization.
  • Have extensive experience with JavaScript bundling tools.
  • Have built and maintained an integration test suite with extensive API mocks.

  • The San Francisco, CA base pay range for this role is $200,000.00 – $240,000.00. This salary range is an estimate. Actual salary will be based on job related skills, experience and location. Pay ranges outside San Francisco may be adjusted based on employee location. The total compensation package also includes benefits and equity-based compensation. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range for your location during the hiring process.
