We are the B2B Frontline Authority Systems Technology Team. We are part of the Frontline Enterprise Technology Team, which is part of the Core Technology organization at Zillow! We build and maintain systems used by sales and service operators across 10 of Zillow’s B2B lines of business including Premier Agent, Rentals, and ShowingTime+. We focus on solving frontline operator problems with technology and strive to supercharge our internal customers with automation and simplification, driving productivity and efficiency metrics. Because we believe it improves our return on investment, we leverage established platforms like Salesforce where possible and are dedicated advocates for standard capabilities versus customized solutions.

About the role

We are looking for an expert software development manager to manage a team of Salesforce developers and administrators and to drive engineering best practices within our larger organization!

As a Senior Salesforce Manager, you will:

  • Build, coach, and develop a successful team
  • Empower your team and drive innovation by aligning work to company-level strategy
  • Manage capacity and staffing to ensure your team is delivering the most business value possible
  • Drive the delivery of quality software, effectively balancing between speed-to-market pressures and the need to build for future scale
  • Establish strong working relationships with partners across multiple product and engineering teams
  • Identify and mitigate technology- and team-related risks on a year+ time horizon
  • Ensure your team is meeting operational expectations including responding quickly and effectively to incidents, conducting strong root cause analyses, and completing action items in accordance with established SLAs
  • Establish inspection mechanisms so you can effectively lead your team and your technology
  • Develop an engineering vision for the technology you own
  • Prioritize engineering backlog items to maintain a healthy and stable technology stack
  • Lead through change

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $152,500.00 – $243,500.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you are

  • Undergraduate degree (BS) in Computer Science or equivalent highly technical field
  • 3+ years as an engineering or software development manager with a team of at least 5 people
  • Proven experience working on the Salesforce platform and a strong understanding of the platform’s capabilities and limitations
  • Understanding of Salesforce’s declarative capabilities and a point of view on when and how to use them
  • Familiarity with Zendesk and running that platform within an enterprise environment
  • Proficiency with Apex and Lightning Web Components and experience incorporating JavaScript frameworks like React, Bootstrap, or Angular
  • Working knowledge of web service environments, languages, and formats such as RESTful APIs, SOAP, FTP/SFTP, HTML, XML, and JSON
  • Familiarity with capabilities of and skills required to build in AWS</p>
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships and driving alignment across multiple organizations and/or functions
  • Understanding of and demonstrated experience using agile methodologies, scrum processes, and the software development life cycle
  • Hands-on experience using Salesforce Event Monitoring
  • Hands-on experience with CICD tooling: GitLab Pipelines, Gearset, etc.
  • Experience working with other SaaS-based applications, specifically: Salesloft, Gong, and Genesys Pure Cloud.
  • Experience integrating CRM systems with marketing, sales enablement, and telephony systems
  • Experience working in an enterprise environment with a user base of 2K+
  • Familiarity with other programming languages: C, C++, Java, Python, etc.
