Job Description Summary

Provide paralegal support to Workplace Solutions Advice & Digital Legal team. The Advice & Digital legal team provides guidance and support to Transamerica’s Workplace Solutions’ retirement plan and retail businesses with a focus on investment advisory programs, broker-dealer products/services, in-plan and retail product development, digital projects and initiatives, and regulatory compliance.

Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Provide paralegal assistance with review/drafting of agreements, regulatory documents and customer disclosures and notices.
  • Support the tracking and monitoring of new laws, rules/regs, and industry developments in specific areas (e.g., securities laws, fiduciary rules, retirement plans, digital/privacy and AI).
  • Provide organizational support and prepare materials for internal committees, cross-functional working groups and legal/compliance projects.
  • Provide organizational support for legal team meetings and paralegal meetings.
  • Provide legal support and assist in management of regulatory examinations.
  • Perform other related tasks, as assigned.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of paralegal experience within a corporate legal department or law office.
  • 2 years formal legal training or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in the financial services/securities business preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, and able to multi-task and shift priorities to meet moving deadlines.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team with varying levels of supervision.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications – Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

The US salary for this position generally ranges between $70,000 $75,000 annually. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications and operational needs. Salary may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by applicable law.

Additionally in the US, this position is typically eligible for an Annual Bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at the Company’s discretion.
