About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager, Engineering to lead and scale our engineering team responsible for our rapidly growing data feeds product suite. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the development and expansion of our market-leading product in the Oracle space, enabling secure interactions between smart contracts and off-chain data. This leader will work closely with the executive team to grow our decentralized finance (DeFi) success and establish a reliable and scalable platform for smart contract growth on the blockchain.

Your Impact

  • Scale and maintain reliable data feeds: Take ownership of scaling data feeds while ensuring end-to-end quality, including assessing data providers, enhancing Oracle network reliability, and optimizing API performance. Expand the range of supported assets and data sources and collaborate with the platform team to deliver feeds on multiple blockchain networks.
  • Deliver successful low-latency data feeds product (data 2.0) for the derivatives market: Develop a robust next-generation data product with low latency off-chain reports. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and infrastructure to launch the service, establish operational deployment processes, and ensure developer-friendly and high-performance customer data delivery.
  • Team and people growth: Manage and grow the existing data feeds team and new data 2.0 teams, restructuring as necessary to achieve the above objectives. Recruit and hire engineers to fill required roles and foster a culture of growth and excellence within the teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a senior manager or above in a similar role involving the management of four or more engineering teams.
  • Successful track record of hiring, building, and retaining skilled engineering teams.
  • Experience shipping external API products in a web/PAAS/blockchain services environment, with additional experience in distributed systems being a plus.
  • Proficiency in delivering high-quality finance/fintech data to users and enabling their operation using financial data.

Preferred Requirements

  • Strong background in attracting, retaining, and growing teams in data services or related fields, with experience managing teams.
  • Previous experience scaling a Platform as a Service (PaaS) that delivered data infrastructure/interfaces for external integrations with more than 50 customers/partners.
  • Demonstrated reliability in delivering and supporting mission-critical online services and maintaining highly available mature deployments for over three years.
  • Familiarity with financial data sets and experience in working with or producing high-quality finance/fintech data from multiple sources. Knowledge of complex financial products is a plus.
  • Technical expertise in designing and scaling data infrastructure and distributed systems architecture. Experience with data pipelines, such as BigQuery, DataFlow, Cloud Composer, DataProc, Apache Spark, Apache Kafka, or similar services, and a minimum of three years of experience as an engineer.
  • Startup experience, either as an entrepreneur or in high-growth Series B companies, with strong operational skills and the ability to balance speed and quality pragmatically.
  • Commitment to the blockchain industry for five or more years, demonstrated by owning cryptocurrency, using DeFi, and clearly understanding the importance of blockchains.
  • Previous success in building open-source developer tools with community involvement and a working relationship with external contributors.
