We’re seeking a talented and experienced Senior Full Stack Engineer II who will work within a squad/team to maximize its impact. Understands the business and make technical and or delivery decisions based on its direction.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Designing and building RESTful Node APIs, React frontends and/or React Native mobile apps.
  • Regularly releasing working software, using trunk-based development, automated test suites, and infrastructure-as-code principles.
  • Incorporating cross-functional requirements such as performance, resilience, observability, maintainability, security, and accessibility.
  • Owning the delivery and ensuring the momentum of specific features and/or squads
  • Collaborating with other disciplines and departments, building effective working relationships, and representing engineering across Kooth.
  • Helping the team achieve a shared understanding of user needs, Kooth commercial and operational goals.
  • Working with engineers to set technical direction, advise on architectural decisions and maintain a focus on technical excellence through pair/mob
  • programming and other knowledge sharing approaches.
  • Keeping up to date knowledge of industry trends, engaging with wider technical communities, and appropriately sharing suggestions.
  • Work with engineering leadership and others to create an empowered, autonomous and diverse engineering culture.
  • Participating in the out-of-hours on-call response Rota approximately two weeks out of every four months.
  • Indepth knowledge of JavaScript or Typescript

Requirements

  • A focus on maintainable, well tested code
  • Database technologies such as PostgreSQL, Google Datastore, BigQuery
  • An understanding of modern architecture patterns and ability to steer systems design
  • Focus on pragmatic delivery, able to take ownership and initiative to balance constraints
  • Strong communication skills, builds great colleague relationships across disciplines
  • Experience and enthusiasm for growing other engineers
  • Proven experience working on large-scale software projects in a senior role

Preferred not Required

  • Experience with rapid application development techniques such as trunk-based development, automated testing at all levels and infrastructure-as-code.
  • Worked in a cloud native environment like GCP or AWS with Kubernetes
  • Web or mobile application development experience using React or React Native
  • Familiarity with range of support technologies for users with disabilities
  • Experience within an event-sourcing architecture

Benefits

Compensation: $170,000- 200,000 based on experience.
