We are looking for an experienced Front End Developer who has solid technical background and leadership skills. Someone who is excited about designing and implementing scalable systems to join our team. In this position you will work along-side other experienced developers and work with the Product Manager and Engineering Manager to implement reliable, robust and scalable solutions for the Degreed LXP as well add new features, fix bugs, and drive the Degreed product forward. Day in the Life
- Drive end-to-end implementation of new user-facing features and enhancements as a technical leader providing guidance to other front end developers and setting vision for the team.
- Provide mentorship and technical leadership to junior team members, fostering their growth and development.
- Take a proactive role in troubleshooting production issues and work with the team to continuously evaluate and improve the quality, reliability, and scalability of the LXP application.
- Implement beautiful layouts using Tailwind CSS and HTML, demonstrating expertise in frontend development techniques.
- Craft Angular components and services with a focus on modularity and scalability.
- Continually improve the quality of UI code, setting high standards for code maintainability, readability, and reusability.
- Collaborate with product owners to ensure features/changes meet business requirements and fulfill the Degreed strategy
- Work closely with designers, UX, and other developers to gain deep understanding of new features, dependencies, and technical details
- Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to existing engineering processes includingdeployment, monitoring, localization, accessibility, and troubleshooting

Who You Are
We seek outstanding individuals to join our outstanding teams. As a Senior Engineer you not only want to deliver great products, you also want to collaborate with other great engineers:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Front end developer with minimum of 7+ years experience in developing front-end software with at least 3 years Angular experience required – latest version preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated technical leadership experience in an agile environment, with a strong ability to guide and mentor other team members.
- Comfortable creating highly scalable SaaS systems with a focus on decision-making
- Possess strong leadership, communication, collaboration, and documentation skills
- Solution driven with ability to understand the big picture
- Highly organized, detail oriented, and able to work autonomously with minimal direction
- Familiar with encapsulating UI code, isolating business code, familiar with best practices and architecture patterns.
- Experienced with:
- ES6 & Typescript
- Angular v14+
- RxJS v6+
- Testing with Jest: Unit & Integration
- React 18+ (optional, extra points)
- Nx Monorepo (optional, extra points)

What Sets You Apart
- Data visualization experience (especially with HighCharts or D3.js) a plus
- Knowledge of a11y ARIA attributes and screen reader technologies is desirable.
- Knowledge of end-to-end testing with Cypress would be beneficial
- Familiarity with backend technologies such as with C#, .Net 6+, and SQL
Compensation and Benefits at Degreed
Degreed is passionate about pay transparency and we are committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The pay range for this role is $120,000 – $140,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to: skill set, depth of experience, certifications, and specific work location. This may be different in other locations due to differences in the cost of labor.

Work Environment & Physical Demands
Degreed is a remote-first company, however our roles are open to in-office or hybrid if you live in a city with a physical office location. This role has the opportunity to operate 100% virtually from your home office. We primarily collaborate with our US and International colleagues through virtual meetings (Zoom), email, and Slack. In this role, you will be required to operate a laptop computer, computer software platforms, and other office productivity machinery as necessary. Due to the nature of this role, you must be able to remain stationary for extended periods, and must be able to observe and interpret written and/or verbal communication.
