We are looking for a Senior Copywriter to join our Marketing department on a temporary basis (2-3+ months). You will be part of a small team of copywriters supporting marketing efforts across all channels (signage, digital, print, email, collateral, social etc.). You will also partner with internal and external partners to deliver effective marketing communications for our customers. You will report to the Manager of Copywriting and can work remotely.

You will

  • Develop creative concepts, write, and edit engaging copy for campaign assets, including marketing collateral, signage, web copy, social media and email.
  • Take ownership of assigned campaign or channel work with the ability to shepherd all related projects through the process from concept to completion.
  • Be an expert in our content marketing strategy, brand guidelines and style guide. Rigorously proofread and edit every piece of work to deliver the highest-quality assets.
  • Collaborate with strategic marketing partners, designers, and digital producers to develop creative concepts and assets that engage users.
  • Work through a fast-paced review process involving stakeholders across many teams, remaining flexible and agile with changes to copy.
  • Be an innovator. Recommend new creative approaches, or assets for campaigns.
  • Strike the balance between storytelling and sales while turning out clean, fun copy in Total Wine & More’s brand voice.

You will come with

  • A portfolio with short form writing samples (headlines, social posts, signs, etc)
  • 7+ years Copywriter experience translating briefs into effective short form marketing communication solutions and demonstrated ability to write copy quickly, accurately and adapt to an established brand voice.
  • Experience shepherding a campaign or channel from start (creating concept) to finish and partnering with visual team
  • Conceptual and strategic thinker with the ability to balance innovative approaches with business objectives.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills; you can juggle multiple projects and manage competing priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Strong editing and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to remain solution-oriented and positive under pressure.
  • Retail experience highly desired
