Release Train Engineer -- Remote

As a Release Train Engineer you will oversee approximately 7 scrum teams on an ART. Initially, this individual will be responsible for aligning teams, processes, and objectives to the train and working to assess ART readiness and then launch. This role will also be responsible for coaching scrum teams and product/process owners in SAFe and Agile overall in conjunction with our Agile coaches. Position Purpose: Responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of value through the Agile Release Train while placing an emphasis on risk management and continuous improvement. Serve as a Chief Scrum Master for an Agile Release Train that crosses multiple teams by facilitating team(s) to promote agile culture and mindset through coordination and collaboration of train activities. Monitor and remove impediments that block progress for the Release Train to support scrum team delivery. Monitor workflow in Agile Release Train (ART). Analyze program-level metrics and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement. Train the train on SAFe framework and principles to help team(s) understand how to collaborate across the train. Train and coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets with an emphasis on acting as a mentor for Scrum Masters and actively developing team capability. Plan and facilitate all Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Increment ceremonies: Program Increment (PI) Planning Event, Inspect & Adapt and Problem Solving Workshops. Facilitate Program Increment Planning Meeting on a quarterly cadence. In addition facilitate Inspect & Adapt Workshops, Problem Solving Workshops, Product Owner Syncs, Scrum of Scrums for the Scrum Masters and other collaboration and coordination meetings for the train. Encourage all teams on the ART are communicating effectively through professional facilitation. Communicate program information, status, and key health metrics as appropriate. Work with Agile Center for Excellence to share Agile standards that foster team and organizational agility. Additionally you will bring: Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Science, MIS, related field or equivalent experience is required. 3+ years of experience on an Agile development team using agile/scrum. Experience in any of the following roles is preferred: Product Owner, Product Manager, Team Lead, Project Lead, Business Analyst, Senior Business Analyst, Developer, Senior Developer, Software Engineer, and Senior Software Engineer. Preferred experience: Apprentice Agile knowledge, facilitation of Train, team(s) mentor team(s) on Agility, Coach individuals and train(s), team(s), team(s) trainer, evangelist of team(s) empowerment and autonomy, team(s) conflict resolution, evangelist of team(s) psychological safety, cross team collaborator in addition to all qualifications from Scrum Master License/Certification: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Scaled Agile Framework Advanced Scrum Master, Scaled Agile Framework Release Train Engineer or similar certification preferred.
