On-Call UX/UI Designer

We’re currently hiring for an On-Call UX/UI Designer to support federal and commercial clients.

As a UX/UI Designer, you will:

  • Be confident in working independently as a designer, but collaboratively as part of a larger project team
  • Create low- and high-fidelity wireframes and other mockups for websites and applications using Figma to illustrate UX ideas and concepts.
  • Be comfortable sharing ideas, concepts, and designs with clients and/or other team members
  • Provide additional documentation and annotations for your designs and assist developers in implementing your designs
  • Inform your designs with research via competitive/comparative analysis, heuristic reviews, user interviews, or other research techniques appropriate for the project
  • Assist facilitation or organization of workshops with users, stakeholders or internal team members, such as design studios or brainstorming sessions
  • Assist or facilitate usability testing with designs and incorporate feedback into new iterations of the design
  • Use your creativity to help find solutions for the unique problems the user or customer may have
  • Be eager to learn from your colleagues and be an active contributor to the team’s collective knowledge

As a UX/UI Designer, you will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human-centered design
  • Candidates must be willing to complete the e-QIP and undergo a standard federal government background check for this role. Employment is contingent on fitness for the position.
  • Must be a US citizen (required by federal government for the position)

Professional Skills:

  • Demonstrated resiliency and experience in client-facing roles requiring tactful communications in fast-moving environments
  • Ability to collaborate with teams in an agile setting and work across many workstreams
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with a focus on attention to detail to produce client-ready reports and presentations
  • Talent for anticipating obstacles and risk in projects and proactively seeking solutions to mitigate them
  • A self-starter who is comfortable with a variety of UX skills, and perhaps considered a generalist in the field

Pay Range – There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.

The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:

$57,737.00 – $98,153.00
