Location: United States

Edmentum is the leading provider of K-12 digital curriculum, assessments, and services to 43,000 schools in all 50 states and over 100 countries worldwide. We partner with educators to create instructional technology that is proven, easy-to-use, individualized, and aligned to state standards. Built on a 60-year history of innovation and impact, we believe that when educators succeed, students thrive, everywhere learning occurs.

The Learning Designer (LD) is a highly collaborative position with heavy upfront involvement in the product cycle. Through cross-functional collaboration, Learning Designers use their understanding of research and pedagogy to help drive product improvements and new product designs. Learning Designers must have a strong foundation of subject matter expertise, but also the ability to listen deeply to and incorporate the expertise of others. Learning Designers provide strong research basis for product ideation, help cross-departmental teams articulate design concepts, work collaboratively to develop prototypes, and provide pedagogical feedback throughout the product development lifecycle. Learning Designers carry the torch for Edmentum’s Educator First emphasis, bringing practical knowledge of educator and program implementation needs, while reinforcing research-based practices for student engagement.

The Learning Designer, STEM reports to the Learning Design Manager and works collaboratively on project teams, with other Learning Designers and contributors from across the company.

Successful candidates will balance a high level of subject matter expertise in STEM subjects with pedagogical understanding, educator empathy, and student engagement across grades 6-12. The ideal candidate will also have experience designing for multilingual/English language learners, learners with varying abilities, and/or learners in alternative education or virtual learning environments.
