This is your chance to be a part of an in-house Customer Experience team that’s using guest insights to evolve our industry-leading channels and deliver personalized experiences. As a Lead User Experience Designer , you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Experience Design team reporting to the Director of UX Design, you will support projects including several Mobile App projects. You will hold a passion for using technology to solve creative problems for people. You are expected to act as a subject matter expert on consumer behavior on websites and mobile apps, especially those related to travel. The Lead User Experience Designer must understand the full consumer experience and be the “Voice of the Customer” throughout the organization and make sure it is heard in all decision-making processes that impact the consumer — helping create and sustain a consumer-centric culture.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Advocate for the customer across the teams and across stakeholder levels; this includes supporting and validating big-picture, 40,000-foot concepts to ground-level implementation without missing a beat.
  • Lead all aspects of evaluative and generative user experience research through qualitative methodologies including but not limited to: testing prototypes through user interviews, coordinating in-depth usability testing, mining user analytics, etc.
  • Align and assist with driving the strategic direction for our in-language and localization efforts.
  • Interpret research quantitative data and qualitative feedback into actionable next steps
  • Develop user-centered designs considering customer feedback, personas, user research, technical constraints or opportunities, and business needs
  • Communicate design ideas and prototypes clearly and persuasively to a variety of audiences
  • Deploy a variety of practices to efficiently yet effectively create designs
  • Leverage proven patterns to enhance and optimize products – Establish and shape our Design Language and Component Libraries in collaboration with UI Design
  • Design accessible features
  • Contribute to the product strategy and roadmap
  • Facilitate workshops (journey mapping, problem-statement, etc.)
  • Contribute to user story evolution to make sure the experience expectations are clear· Keep abreast of competitor products and industry trends
  • May independently coordinate, lead, or manage small /non-complex projects, or individually perform segments of larger projects

How you will collaborate with others:

  • Collaborate with pod team members and business stakeholders to develop a core understanding of user personas and deliver solutions
  • Collaborate with the Research and Experimentation team to identify learning opportunities and uncover user’s needs
  • Collaborate with Content Designers to understand how users consume and navigate content and support information architecture strategy
  • Ensure coherence and consistency of features and functions across the overall journey, in and outside your focus area
  • Collaborate with UI designers to implement attractive designs
  • Support less experienced staff

What projects you will take ownership of:

  • As the Lead UX Designer, you will be pivotal in supporting various Mobile App projects, including but not limited to enhancements to the Hilton Honors app, ensuring seamless user experiences and driving engagement.

WHY YOU’LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Seven (7) years of work experience as a user experience designer, product designer, digital designer, or similar role
  • Experience with native mobile and web platforms
  • Experience with common design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.
  • Understanding of accessibility standards
  • Experience pitching and presenting designs to stakeholders and leadership
  • An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating great user-centered design solutions
  • Travel up to10%

It would be useful if you have:

  • Experience developing process flows, conceptual diagrams, sketches, wireframes, and prototypes to conceptualize and communicate high-level design strategies and interaction behaviors
  • Understanding of current and emerging technologies
  • Experience working with remote teams
  • Experience in an Agile/scrum environment
  • Commitment to learning and expanding expertise and technical knowledge.
