Email Marketing Manager

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Email Marketing Manager is responsible for driving conversions to New York subscriptions and increasing engagement from current subscribers as well as key audience cohorts through email. This position reports to the Director of Consumer Marketing and will be part of our acquisition team focused on developing strategies and executing efforts to grow our subscription business.

As Email Marketing Manager, you’ll work closely with the Consumer Revenue, Design, Product/Dev, and Analytics teams to optimize email campaigns, analyze performance, and manage the email calendar. Candidates should have experience in A/B testing, staging and deployment, and managing and refining automated campaigns. Additionally, together with the Consumer Revenue team you will participate in development and ongoing refinement of the email roadmap and play a significant role in execution of the roadmap.

  • Partner with Consumer Revenue stakeholders.You will use existing data to develop high impact email campaigns supporting the full-funnel needs of our subscription products. Your email campaigns will establish messaging, targeting, flighting, testing, and the plan for measurement.
  • Produce and schedule email campaigns for deployment.
  • Develop tests for monthly campaigns, automated drip sequences, triggered emails, and transactional correspondence.
  • QA outgoing email campaigns for the proper image-to-text ratio, image-sizing, font-sizing, device-rendering, and segmentation.
  • Maintain list health and integration with other vendors.
  • Monitor, track, and report on all marketing campaign performance (open rates, CTR, subscription conversions, etc.).You will provide analyses of email campaigns and recommendations for enhancing their effectiveness.
  • Work closely with the creative team to develop and test new creative.
  • Manage Consumer Revenue email calendar.

WHO YOU ARE

  • 4-5 years experience managing robust email strategies, calendars, and testing schedules.
  • Comfortable with reporting on results, specifically presenting on email performance and how campaigns are reaching monthly subscription goals.
  • Proven experience using Sailthru (or another email service platform) and knowledge of email best practices, CAN-SPAM, GDPR, and CCPA.
  • Highly proficient in building audiences for segmentation and re-targeting, A/B testing, staging and deployment, and automated campaigns
  • Experience supporting product and content launches through smart campaign activation.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills and detail oriented.
  • Extremely strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Google Analytics.
  • Experience working in a CMS a plus.
  • Knowledge of HTML/CSS specifically as it pertains to coding email templates a plus.
  • Ability to manage shifting priorities and tight deadlines associated with a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor degree preferred, preferably in marketing or related field.

Salary Range

$70,000—$85,000 USD
