The Center for Health Outcomes and Policy Evaluation Studies (HOPES) is the community’s partner and Ohio State University’s home for health policy and health services research. We provide evidence for policies and programs that work to improve health equity.

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team. They will assist in day-to-day operational tasks, including scheduling meetings, helping optimize the Center’s operations, coordinating purchasing and travel for Center staff, and maintaining records. They will also work with the team to ensure compliance with university policies and procedures. This role will manage communications for the Center for HOPES, assisting in the development and execution of communication strategies to promote HOPES’ mission and activities, as well as creating and managing content for the Center’s newsletters and website to ensure it remains updated and user-friendly. This position will also assist in the organization of events, which may include coordinating logistics and communication with partners. This role will also assist the Center’s Operations Manager in onboarding new employees and with earnings operation activities, which may include contract negotiation mediation, assisting in contract workflow procedures, invoicing clients, and tracking the completion of project deliverables.

60% Day-to-day operational tasks: schedule meetings, manage records, payroll processing support, earnings operations support, coordinate travel and purchasing for Center staff, manage event logistics, and help optimize Center procedures

30% Communications management: develop and execute communication strategies, and create and manage content for newsletters and website

10% Other administrative tasks as assigned

Additional Information:

Minimum Class Requirements Per CCS Class Specs:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required

Desired Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant work experience in a related field
  • Familiarity with HR and payroll processes
  • Graphic design and website management skills
  • Familiarity with Workday Enterprise Management
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to work independently and in a team

Pay Range: $18.17- $23.90

*The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit’s available budget, and the candidate’s qualifications.
